CU wins 17-9. Stays undefeated (8-0). Is Kerwick the Answer?

Only other unbeaten team, Maryland, trails UNC 8-7 after three quarters.

[Edit:  final score UNC 11, Maryland 8]

Giving credit where credit is due for being the only undefeated team left, but our SOS really doesn't look great compared to other top-ranked teams. I guess we'll have a much better idea if they have the chops to go the distance, if they can remain undefeated after playing Syracuse on April 8th.

That hasn't been updated (when I clicked, still showed us at 7-0, anyway), and it uses Laxpower's lame calculation that includes margin of victory.  Blowing out 1 terrible team and then losing to a lot of good teams is considered a good thing by their formula, and results in foolishness like 2-3 Albany being ranked ahead of 7-0 Cornell.

I actually made it down from Lake Placid to Philly for the game.  Our defense looked shaky in the first quarter, before they adjusted and got their ride going.  Then we ran off another 6 goal streak.  In the second half, we also had some trouble on the clear.  But Tesoriero was a monster at the faceoff X.

My impression was the game would have been a lot more of a runaway if their goalie hadn't come up big.

If you look at SOS based on opponents' RPI, as the. NCAA does, Cornell ranks #9, and is #1 in Quality Win Factor, again based on RPI.

Does this include Virginia beating Hopkins and Y'ale beating Princeton today?

No.  With today's results, Cornell's SOS is #8 measured against RPI but #29 against the goofy laxpower computer ratings.  Cornell and Yale are #1 and #2 as laxpower calculates RPI, with Virginia #4 and Penn #9.
