Quote from: jtn27I like how the RPI announcer had to confirm that Art Dorrington was the first African American to sign an NHL contract even though he never got out of the minors. It's understandable that the announcer had never heard of him before but he didn't have to make it so obvious when he was doing the interview.

That was me - I'm not an RPI announcer - It was RPI's production crew - not the same.

In any event, I have no problem admitting I didn't know Art Dorrington. :) ... I found out before interviewing him, so I certainly could've made believe I knew it all along - but why do that?  What if the info I was handed was wrong?  Figured I'd confirm it with him - and there was no other way to do that except live.  Give me credit for knowing that the Boardwalk Bullies won an ECHL championship there in 2003. :)

More to the point of course is that no one on elynah knew who Art Dorrington was before Friday, either, but some of us knew "the RPI announcer" .;-)  I'll let jtn Google that one.

No offense to you. I probably would have done the same thing if I was in a situation where I couldn't confirm it before the live interview. I just found it amusing. And as for not catching your name and assuming that you were with RPI, I just wasn't really paying attention.

Quote from: Jim HylaAdam, did you write the whole ECAC history piece in the program? If so, is it yours or the ECACs? It's the best that I can remember ever seeing. For those who didn't see it, get a copy if you can, it's good.

I wrote that last year -- was it in the program again this year?

Yes, I couldn't go last year. That's why I wondered for others, could it be put online or something.

I think you'd have to ask them - although I just noticed 3 typos from the version I submitted to them - don't know if they were corrected when it appeared in the program.

My goal is to one day write a book on all of that - more with stories than facts.  If they say it's OK, I can put it on CHN ... If I remember to ask, I will...

In case anyone still cares about last weekend, all four games from AC are now up on RPI-TV's website. The software attempts to compute the optimal resolution based upon your internet connection speed. From my observation, it tends to take about a minute to settle down. The resolution can also be adjusted manually while it is running.
