[Admin] Login required?

Suddenly, I am forced to login in order to post a message, and my e-mail address is available to the public.  Why the change?  Was this announced?

It was originally supposed to be optional to have to log in to post, but for some reason some (actually most) browsers didn't behave correctly and wouldn't let you post anonoymously, resulting in lots of e-mails. I figured it would just be simpler if everyone had to have an account and might reduce some of the anonymous assblather that occasionally shows up.
