For those who follow the AHL, I just got home from Hamilton where Ryan O'Byrne and the Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Hershey Bears in 5 games to capture that AHL Championship, the Calder Cup.

O'Byrne had a great run in the playoffs, playing every game with 2-5-7 (one goal of which came against the Amerks) and an impressive +12.

I wouldn't be shocked if he saw more ice time with Montreal next season.

Markov resigned recently but I doubt that Souray will be back.  Someone is going to pay Souray 6M to be a -20 defenseman with a booming shot and it isn't going to be Montreal after what they gave Markov.  Plus Rivet moving out at the deadline and Niinimaa not likely to be back, I think there will be an opening for sure even if they sign one or two UFA's.

Around the All-Star break, Souray had more points and goals than the entire Rangers defensive corps combined. If the Rangers sign him for $6M and pair him with a responsible defenseman, it'll be fine with me.

Exactly how I feel, except sub Flyers for Rangers.  And given how the Flyers are 20 MM$ under the cap, expect them to go shopping.
