Cornell goalie Matt McMonagle was the unanimous choice for Ivy Player of the Year.

First-team Cornellians: McMonagle, Belisle, Vedder, Seibald, Glynn, Mitchell, Pittard.

Second-team: Moyer, Clayton

(No honorable mention Cornellians.)

Dartmouth's Sussman was the Rookie of the Year (a no-brainer)

Belisle, Seibald, and Dartmouth's Bonacci were the only unanimous first teamers.

Edit: Princeton's Cocoziello beaten out by his teammate Jungers for first team.

Rather bizarre that McMonagle was chosen unanimously as Player of the Year but not as first-team goalie.

I think he means he wasn't the unanimous first team goalie but was the unanimous player of the year.

Some voters might believe in a "spread  the wealth" philosophy with awards and therefore pick someone over McMonagle for First Team goalie.  Seems odd to me, but I think I've seen this in hockey before (Dryden award winner not being Frist Team All-ECAC maybe?)

It might be a mistake. The release had a few other goofs that have since been corrected.

I thought that, too.  Or the asterisk next to his name as Player of the Year is intended to be transitive.  Or maybe it just goes without saying.  Whatever.

Maybe it was just awkward wording and the release meant to say, "Joining McMonagle were teammates and, as with McMonagle, unanimous first team ... " Or not. Maybe Matt had a game that another coach didn't think was stellar, while Princeton's Hewitt did a good job vs. the same time. But there are graver matters afoot, like the seeding that, yes, seems to be nice to Cornell for two games but then, if seeds follow form, make the title game be on Saturday.

>>> Joining McMonagle were teammates and unanimous first team selections Max Seibald and Mitch Belisle. Seibald follows up his 2006 Rookie of the Year performance with his second straight first-team honor, while Belisle also becomes a two-time first-teamer while anchoring a Big Red defense that allowed a mere 6.38 goals per game, fifth best in the country.
