On the off chance any of you have a) kids who b) play hockey and c) took part in this: What's the level of skill at the Cornell summer clinics for young teenagers? We've got a 13-year-old goaltender who's played a lot of roller hockey, done well at this lower level of competition, and is moving into ice hockey. We don't mind so long as he's within the skills range of the other participants, but we don't want him to be hopelessly outclassed if the only other participants are hard chargers who see themselves as the next Bobby Orr by the time they're 15.

And yes, we're going to call Cornell to get a sense of the level of the program, but if anyone has insights here, thanks.

I attended CU Hockey camp when i was a little kid, over 15 years ago. I'd say it was fun and a great week of summer hockey, but my feeling is that the elite programs in canada had an obviously higher level of compitition. i bet he'll be fine, even if hes still getting used to his skates. I remember being coached by none other than Mike Richter and Joe Niewendike (one day, but still to skate with the pros) and as a goalie and CU fan your kid should have a great time.
