I'd bet that spreading the wealth around is/was a big factor.  No Cornell player, other than McKee, was a clear standout for an award this year, no matter how valuable those of us who followed the team know guys may have been.  So the voters decided to give awards to other teams this year.

McKee could easily have been 2nd team All-ECAC, but since he was already going to be on the rookie team they again opted to spread things around.  We see this all the time with the weekly awards too. I suspect if David was a Soph he'd have been 2nd team over Marsters.

[Q]We all saw firsthand how valuable a player Vesce was to the team last weekend[/Q] While I agree that Vesce was extremely valuable to our team and will be greatly missed, you can't give out awards based on "replacement value".  Awards of this sort should be given for performance on the ice.  If a guy is in the stands wearing a suit, he's not performing on the ice and shouldn't get credit for might've beens.

This doesn't mean that Vesce shouldn't be the team MVP, but that's a different kind of award.

The printed ECAC tournament program allowed four players - one from each school attending - to answer 20 Questions.

Question #5.  Best all around opposing ECAC player?

Harvard's Rob Fried:  Ryan Vesce
Dartmouth's Lee Stempniak:  Ryan Vesce
Colgate's Paul Kelley: Ryan Vesce
Clarkson's Rob McFeeters: Lee Stempniak, Dartmouth

Lynah was picked as toughest ECAC Arena to play in by all of the above except Stempniak who picked Bright.

Fried and McFeeters picked Cornell as their toughest opponent.

"When we came off, [Bitz] said, 'Thank God you scored that goal,'" Moulson said. "He would've killed me if I didn't."

Matt Moulson:

#26 ppg nation-wide 1.09
#15 gpg nation-wide 0.56

#2 goals 0.64 gpg 14g ECAC
#3 gwg 4 in ECAC
#11 (3-way tie) ppg 1.05 ECAC

fairly stand-out play to me.
