On the Late Late Show Thursday night:

Craig Kilborn: Question 1, you are an adjunct? professor at Cornell University. What is their team nickname?
John Cleese: I am actually the A.D. White Professor at Large. They are the tiny delicate white porcelain mice. No just kidding, the Big Red.
Craig: That's right (showing the card to the camera), the Big Red

I didn't even know about John Cleese's Cornell connection until I saw this. Too bad Craiggers is a basketball junkie. He is from Minnesota.

It was in the Cornell dorms that I was introduced to Monty Python's Flying Circus. Before that I would never have watched PBS.

"I have only one criticism, other than the coffee... I think that we should move this campus about 800 miles south."

"Cornell isn't an organization.  It's a loose affiliation of independent fiefdoms united by a common hockey team."

I remember a great response he had when he was on the Daily Show back when Craig Kilborn was doing 5 Questions there as well:

Q: Why does British food suck?

Cleese: We had an empire to run!
