Season opener today.  Prognosticators have been universally underwhelmed by our chances this year; hopefully we will have some luck and surprise them.

Very scant historical info here: http://members.cox.net/gregberge/cornellFootball/cornellFootballIndex.html

Yikes!  Potential game-winning field goal for Bucknell hits the left upright with less than two minutes remaining!

Cornell stopped on third down and forced to punt with :48 to go.

And an interception seals it for the Big Red.

And the radio broadcast was out during the kick due to technical difficulties.  I wonder if anyone who paid to listen to the broadcast is pleased.

Following the game on GameCaster is, to me at least, more enjoyable than listening.  Free, too.:-P

What a great game!  Bucknell was running all over us but our offense was able to keep up.  It really hurt Bucknell that they couldn't score a TD on their first three drives and only came away with 6 points.  The fans were treated to a beautiful, fall Ithaca day and an exciting win!

Nice job by Razzano and the receiving corps.  Prendergast ran 4-receiver formations frequently.  Johnston (soph FB) had a great game.

Bucknell came in 2-0 and is a pretty good Patriot League team.  Solid way to start the season (albeit a nail-biter).

I dunno...

One would hope that against a team that came in having attempted 12 passes in 2 games thus far this season (5 completions), we'd be more prepared and successful against the run...since everyone and their sister knew what was coming.

Yet Bucknell still went for 265 on the ground.  What happens when we face a team that can throw the ball?

I'll take the win and the 1-0 start, but I'm not too sure about our chances to stay competitive next week -- on the road -- when it counts.

I'd love to be wrong though.  Nice job Red!

Well, Yale rolled up 62 points today against Towson.  Could be a replay of two years ago in the Bowl.

Micaela and I have tickets to the game at the Yale Bowl. Is anyone else going?

Work is no longer an excuse to live near an ECACHL team... :(

Just watched PTI and Tony had the Cornell helmet out on the desk again. At the end of the show he said, "And Cornell is 1-0," to which Mike replied, "That's one stiupid game in the Ivy League. Who cares?" Tony said "I care." heh

PTI is shown again at 11:30 pm on espn2, for anyone who wants to catch it.

Affirmation, baby.  Affirmation.

Five other Ivy League teams are also 1-0 now.  Why was Cornell specifically mentioned?  (Or were other teams mentioned at the time too?)  Is Tony perhaps an alum?

Is next year here yet?

His daughter goes here and I believe is in the Hotel school (not sure where I heard that)
