This is somewhat of a disturbing situation. If Burke leaves, their only goalies in the system are Boucher and Pelletier. Hopefully, they aren't making this trade because of certain discussions with Lenny we aren't aware of :-/

Of course, this is all speculation now, but TSN tends to be pretty accurate with their hockey reporting.

You are forgetting Zak Bierk.  He played unbelievable last year for Phoenix for an extended period when Sean Burke was down.  Right now, two of Boucher, Burke, and Bierk will be the goalies in Phoenix next year for sure.  The other one will be moved for sure.  Pelletier is slated to be the number one in Springfield almost definitely.
Additionally, Phoenix knows they would likely have to give LeNeveu the rookie max (just under a million a year for three years) to entice him to sign.  They will not do that because the current collective bargaining agreement expires after next season and there will likely be something much more favorable in place for NHL teams (won't have to pay players nearly as much) in the new collective bargaining agreement.
And it should be noted that TSN is not the least bit reliable in most of its stories.

The Burke-to-Boston story was also reported in this Saturday's Boston Globe, so it's not like TSN is reaching for this one.  I wouldn't be surprised if that deal happans, but if it does, I don't think it has as much of an immediate impact on LeNeveu as we might fear, for many of the reasons that calgARI '07 listed.

But don't even get me started on Boston trading a #1 pick for one season of a 37-year old goalie :-(  (although the Bruins would probably bone the pick anyway, so maybe it's a good move).  And if they trade Samsonov, I quit. :-( :-( :-(

You've never been a fan of a team owned by Jeremy Jacobs - trust me, it's hell.  True, I've sworn off the team plenty of times before, and I always end up coming back because I can't bring myself to choose a new favorite team.  It's like knowing that you should break up with your girlfriend because she's a total bitch, but always ending up back with her somehow.

FYI - the pick Anaheim used to draft Hynes today was Boston's - probably from the Sami Pahlsson trade a few years ago, but I don't know for sure.  It would have been really nice to see Shane in a B's sweater, but these are the kind of things that happen when you're a Bruins fan.  Things just never seems to work out.  Now they'll probably trade for Burke, prompting Phoenix to sign LeNeveu, again delivering a crushing blow to my hockey fandom.  But then at least I can adopt the Coyotes as my new favorite team... for a little while, anyway. ::help::

Kinda proving my point for me there - thanks for the help!

Hey, glad I could help - and now I definitely can't swear off the B's because they just drafted Bitz.  Hopefully they don't trade him to Montreal before he breaks in, a la Dryden. ::worry::

Well, the Bruins did get Guy Allen and Paul Reid in return for Dryden.;-)
