Cornell is doing well against Dartmouth in the 100th meeting. 12-1/2 minutes of possession in the first period for Cornell and a 6-3 lead at the half.

13-10 Cornell early in the fourth. Then Dartmouth 17-13 after a Cornell midfield fumble and a quick D scoring driving with 7 minutes to play. Cornell can't sustain a drive after the TD and Darmouth's ground game finds itself. Cornell never gets the ball back and loses 17-3, the eighth time in a row Dartmouth has won.

When Jeff Archer two weeks ago talked about his confidence in the team's progress this year and looking ahead to next year when the now-sophomores would be juniors, he said Cornell felt it had a chance to win the last four games. I think he meant Dartmouth and Columbia for sure, who knows about Princeton and Penn. Now it's down to trying to beat Columbia next weekend, Columbia the team that led Harvard 14-7 at halftime today (before Harvard got serious).

Had it beaten Dartmouth, Cornell could have finished 5-5 (assuming a split against Columbia and Penn) and 3-4 Ivy.

Cornell will end up 3-7 and 1-6 in the Ivy League when the season ends. Andy stuck with Bill Courtney too long when it was clear he couldn't get Cornell in at least the top half of the Ivy League standings, let alone challenge for an Ivy title.
