anyone want to play Dr on how long before he can play with that injury?  some google stuff says 3-6 weeks if there is no surgery required?

I hope it's 3 weeks. If it's 6 we could be in trouble.

Let's just say when the scratches were up in the Cornell section during one of the intermissions, it didn't look like he'll be back any time soon. Don't care to speculate beyond that.

Dislocation, yes?  I dislocated my pinkie in a bike accident last May, and I was surprised how long it takes for that injury to fully heal.  They advised me not to ride my bike for 6 weeks, due to risk of another injury.  Apparently fingers don't heal well at all if they are re-injured before they are fully healed.  There was still pain at the extreme ranges of motion  (fully flexed or fully straight) for a good 4 months, and I can still tell now that it's stiffer than it should be.  I can't imagine that it will be very fun or effective for him to grip a stick for a good 4-6 weeks.  Maybe he can just plant himself in front of the crease and deflect pucks in while holding the stick in one hand.  ::worry::

i suppose you could do something like the movie "breaking Away"  just tape his hand to the stick so it would have almost no moveability.

Somehow, I missed this. When did Ferlin get hurt? Is it some type of dislocated finger injury?
