Yale game in Boston?

Is anyone in the Boston area planning on watching this game?  Should we try and find a bar that'll put the game on one of their tubes?

The Sports Depot in Allston was kind enough to give CCOB the big screen tv in the rear room last year for the Placid games.  While hundreds and hundreds of people packed the main room to watch basketball on tiny tv's, about 15 people watched the hockey game in a spacious room on a big screen tv with no distractions.  There would probably be an organized CCOB viewing of the game if it weren't for the fact that I'll be at the Yale game.

Say, if you can't get to a game in Boston, come join us in San Mateo on Saturday.  (A USAirways e-fare may make this actually do-able.) :-))

Thanks, Tom(s), for the info and offer.  I guess I'll just have to upgrade my cable service to include NESN.

Given that the game is on NESN and doesn't conflict with the NCAA basketball tournament, you should have no problem getting the Sports Depot to show the game.  If you call first and say you'll come by with some friends to watch the game on NESN, you might get assurances that the bar will show the game.  The place has dozens of televisions; they can show the Cornell-Yale game on at least one for you.  Chances are, you'll find some other Cornellians at the Depot.

Other places where I have watched Cornell games in the Boston area are the Crimson Sports Bar and Grill (or something with a similar name) on JFK Blvd. in Cambridge and Good Time Emporium in Somerville.  You can try the sports bar next to Jillian's, too.  But, the Depot is the best sports bar in town.

Are you high, Buckser? What about the Coolidge Corner Clubhouse?

Good Time Emporium kicks all comers, provided your lungs don't mind a creosote carnival of cigarette smoke.

Good Time Emporium came through for me and some other Cornell fans for the 1997 ECAC final, when the Sports Depot wouldn't spare a satellite dish during the second round of the NCAA basketball tournament.  I'd consider it a last resort rather than a first choice.

FWIW, the Crimson Bar and Grill was shut down a little while back for serving minors (apparently it failed this test a few times).  It has now been replaced with the hoity-toity "Redline".

RedAR, check your email.

There is no doubt that I could get Boston Beer Works to show the game. The owners are Cornellians and my boyfriend is a manager there. They might show it at the front bar (the one by Fenway.)  If they showed the finale of the Bachelorette I'm sure I can get them to show this. I'll talk to him later tonight and let y'all know.  I might be there anyway watching it just because he's working most of the night and it's better than watching it at home alone.

oh, BTW, I don't think the TVs will show it with sound, which is fine by me, but they might be able to caption it.
