At the risk of this thread collapsing into an off-topic discussion of everything that is wrong with baseball...

[Q]A little touchy, aren't you?[/Q]

Short answer: Not really...just giving some grief to Josh.  :-)

Long answer: I'm aware of a tiring trend in the media to label anything and everything the Yankees do as being the only evil in the world with a "there they go again" attitude, when there are actions made by other franchises that are guilty of exploiting the poor financial model of baseball.  It's a double standard that exists, and the Yankees are always the easy target.

But now that cartoony 1980s George has returned, I don't really care if he gets taken down.  Steinbrenner sucks.

Please...back to hockey?

I've got no problem with Yankee bashing when appropriate...

however, pretty much all team in major sports sell post-season tickets before anything is set in stone.  In baseball it happens all the time...I recall last year the Islanders were selling tickets for 4 first-round home games, as it was unclear whether they would be getting hte #5 seed or higher.  And a slew of teams in the wild card/division races in baseball last year were selling Divisional Series tickets towards the end of the regular season.

It's common practice.

OK, OK, fine, I retract my Yankee bashing.   ::yark::

Wait, no, what I meant to say was, I retract THIS PARTICULAR INSTANCE of Yankee bashing.  :-D
