An Olympian also.
Tom was a classmate, fellow engineer, and very good friend.  A wonderful guy.  Low-key, modest, unassuming, truly a gentle giant.  We hadn't stayed in touch after graduation, and I was really saddened to read of his passing.  A really fine human being.

We should all be winning age-group golds in our sixties. Sounds as if Tom checked out too early but got way more out of 67 years than others would living into their 80s.
