I doubt Cornell wins, even though I think we are the better team. Home-court will provide a huge advantage to IU, wittman may be nervous, and dale may not play. Even if he does play, I don't expect him to play all that crisply.

IF we do win though, this would be the type of win that puts us on the map because you know that ESPN will jump all over this story. I can see it now: "IU hits rock bottom with loss to Ivy league opponent!"

I'd watch Big Red hockey instead of Pats-Steelers.  Hoops, not so much.::yark::
"Yo Paulie - I don't see no crowd gathering 'round you neither."

Ouch.  Tough to win when your starting guards go 2 for 28.  It's really too bad this team isn't healthy.

They played tough for being undermanned. IU opened leads of 11 and 13 or so and each time Cornell cut it back to two. They never had the lead but they weren't out of it until the last few minutes.

In a scary moment, Jeff Foote's shoulder knocked out an IU player. Looked like the kid ran into a wall he didn't know was there. He was down on the court for five or ten minutes before being carted off.
"Mark Mazzoleni looks like a guy whose dog just died out there..."

Bottom line is Cornell's "starting guards" are hurt and didn't play.

Didn't I say that in the next line?

Yes.  Am I not allowed to say it, too?  How incredibly disappointing that this team has had to start its season without its two guards.  What are the odds of that happening?

Certainly.  It'll be very interesting to see if Gore can complete the expedited recovery he's attempting.  I'm certainly rooting for the kid.

Here's an update on Gore's situation from today's Ithaca Journal:
