Every time a Cornell athlete does well in the classroom, it embarrasses those of us who scraped through Cornell in our classrooms and were barely good enough to stand up on skates in intramural hockey. Now Luke Siwula earns Academic All-America status for the second year in a row. About the only consolation (that would be the term schadenfreude?) is that Siwula slipped from first team to second team. Only four Ivy League gridders among the 816 (all sports) chosen across America: first-team defensive back Andrew Berry (Harvard); second-team Paul Raymond (WR, Brown) and Noah Van Niel (FB, Harvard).

I think Van Niel's the guy who sings opera.  Pagliacci?

Take consolation that you know what schadenfreude means.  I'd bet not too many of those Academic All-Americans do.
