Help Improve All-Access

Well eLynah All-Access listeners, I have an idea that I've talked to others about. This is CSTV's last year on their contract with Cornell. Knowing that CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM might have some impact, either for next year or better monitoring this year, here's what I'd suggest.

Email Andy Noel jan16@cornell.edu , and Anita Brenner amb42@cornell.edu , with a copy to the CHA President c/o hockey office sld6@cornell.edu . If you can do it, send a blind copy to me jfh24@cornell.edu .

As posted before, the CHA has not yet made a decision on funding for this year. The next CHA board meeting is Dec. 6. This will be discussed then.   So input now could have an impact.

As you can guess it's EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that these are calmly written and document problems that you have had. For example those could be when you missed major parts of a game. Even if the problems have been earlier this year, listing them could have an effect. I know the problem with hockey player's parents not being able to pay with a Canadian credit card is being reported to the hockey office.

AS YOU KNOW SOME OF US, and THE FORUM in general, ARE NOT NECESSARILY LOOKED FONDLY UPON BY SOME IN THE ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT. So if even a few of you spout off inappropriately it could undermine the effort. PLEASE DO NOT MENTION THAT YOU HEARD ABOUT THIS ON THE FORUM. Just stating your problems and your concern is what's needed.

Please write your email and sit back and reread it to be sure it's constructive. I know I'm being a pain in the a** (watching out for the language police ::whistle:: ) about being nice, but it's only going to work if it's clear that our concern is about the program getting better.

Thanks and here's hoping we can help it get better.

Jim,

What do you think about non-users chiming in.  I haven't bought any video since the change to All-Access.  The bitching here has persuaded me that it isn't worth the potential hassles.

With the previous services I had bought yearly subscriptions and single games, depending on the year in question.  Hell, I don't even know if I could buy a single game because I am frozen with the fear that once I sign up it will be harder to un-subscribe than to quit getting spam for Viagra.

Again, would you like non-users to make these points about the unfriendly nature of signing up with a big outfit whose billing service seems so efficient and yet etc., etc.?

Anything which will make them realize that they are losing alumni could be helpful. Something as simple as, I used to subscribe but hearing all the problems, I decided it wasn't worth it.

Thanks.

Bump,

Some of you had problems last night. Please send emails while you are watching tonight. That is, if you want to try and improve it and not just complain.::twitch::Please copy me.

Thanks

Bump. Well to say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. However to say I'm not surprised would be true.

So far not one single person has sent anything in about All-Acess. At least nothing that gotten to Sue Detzer at the hockey office. ::worry::Those were to go to the Cornell Hockey Association for their board meeting this coming Wednesday. I mean really, you guys can sit here on this Forum and rip apart the service you don't get. You can trashmouth the Athletic Department, and yet you can't send off an email about what problems you are having. And this was being sent to a group that was on your side and wants to improve things.

Please don't sit at your computer this Fri and Sat and complain; you still have a chance to help. Write an email as I suggested in the first post. This is your last weekend chance to have an impact.

As is said, "speak or forever hold your peace". In otherwords "email or shut up".::scream::

I signed up on Sunday and that was the first game I saw on All-Access this year.

It worked fine.

If the same happens tonight and tomorrow, combined with my pleasant experience with the service last year, I unfortunately have nothing to complain about.

If it fails me this weekend, however, then I will gladly write.

Jim,

Athletics will get a message from me today.  I had thought that mine would be a weaker submission since I thankfully haven't been frustrated as often by All Access (I've fortunately been able to attend almost all the home games the season). But I have had my share of All Access difficulties and will pen up a message.

Jason[/quote]Thanks, and let this be the start of something big. I can hope.

I've gotten a number of emails that have been excellent. Thank you to all and please would the rest of you step up to the plate and take a swing. The CHA meeting is next week. While you're listening tonight compose a helpful note.

Thanks again.**]

Does anyone have a phone number for all-access?  I can't find it on cstv.com.  I'd like to reboot my expired monthly account but don't want to have to start with a new email address, log-in, etc.

found a number, 888-870-CSTV, now on hold.

Edited to add: only on hold a minute or two, and they were pleasant enough getting me renewed (I even gambled on the automatic renew option for the future rather than calling each month).  Let's hope for good quality tonight.
