This is a good team, far better than most of us expected at the beginning of the season.  The only thing holding them back are special teams which are absolutely atrocious.
I agree with this comment by Ari in the Maine post-game thread. This has been a fun and exciting team to watch.  I've been pleased by how well this team has played.  But, special teams are really holding the team back.  The PP and PK statistics this season are worse than any of the last five seasons.  Yet, at even strength we look excellent.  What's missing?  What's wrong?

Note: Take the relatively recent crackdown on obstruction into account when you consider these statistics.  The crackdown likely deflates the even strength goals against and goals scored numbers in more recent years in comparison to later years.

From the Ithaca Journal article:

Sacred Heart scoring leaders

   * Pierre-Luc O'Brien (12-18-30); Bear Trapp 9-16-25; Alexandre Parent (9-13-22)

Mr. and Mrs. Trapp have a wonderful sense of humor.
