They've backed themselves into a corner trying to have it all. They want to act like a good school because they have a couple good programs but they also lean into their party and sports school reputation, putting them in a spot where they're trying to get incoming freshmen that are polar opposites of one another.

I don't trust these rankings at all tbh. Wouldn't be surprised if Arend can't even crack the lineup with everyone healthy.

Schedule drop. Again a little weaker than I'd like (no need to play Marist, Colgate, Binghamton, and Bucknell, will kill our rpi).

I'll say it again that this is the year to tune into Cornell soccer, I could see this team going a long way. My only spot of concern is center back, but if someone can step up there, we could be a quarterfinal team in the NCAA tourney.

spent 1 year there, don't know about alumnus. But pretty cool to say we got to see him playing in Ithaca

Obviously I don't mean every single time man, I just mean if we do that as a general rule it won't change much for us, whereas other teams may be bringing in less experienced guys so that they can get the full five years out of them.

I don't see why we wouldn't just keep our recruits in juniors for an extra year before coming in. Then we get better developed players and they have no eligibility left when they're done with us.

On paper Williams looks like the best of the bunch, but it often doesn't play out that way.

Anyone know how the rule will be ushered in? Will it only be for incoming recruits or will guys already on the roster be subject to the same rules? Will it be in place for recruits this year (e.g. Gardiner only gets 3 years max)?

Cole Emerton's Barrie Colts made it to the OHL final where they fell to Kitchener. The D man turned 18 in March, got a lot of time on the powerplay. A bit undersized at 5'11 170. 31 points in 66 games this season; fantastic for such a young defenseman. Exciting prospect.

Henri Ament's Everett Silvertips are in the memorial cup but Ament hasn't played for them in the playoffs. Not sure if it's an injury situation or a healthy scratch since he played 45 games during the regular season. Only put up 5 points, is already 19, and also only 5'11. His prep numbers aren't very good either so not sure what the vision is here, but I guess we always need to be recruiting the next Marian Moskos and Misha Songs to be bodies at practice.
