We'll see tonight at 9pm whether Cornell gets the #2 seed behind Syracuse.  Speculation is that the opponent will be Hartford if that's the case.

Syracuse holds graduation in the Dome on Saturday, so their game with [likely] Siena will be Sunday, and ours will be Saturday to allow the same TV crew to do both central NY games.

Other Sports / Cornell vs. Dartmouth lax

2-1 Cornell after one period on a Pannell last-second goal.  Sluggish period for the Red.  Middies turned it over on first four possessions.  Dartmouth zone making it difficult to pass it inside.  Dartmouth taking many outside shots off cage but backing them up, thereby controlling possession.  Shots 13-5 Dartmouth after one.

Cornell leading 6-1 early 2nd.  Hobart plagued by penalties.  Two goals, one assist for Pannell.

Hofstra leading Princeton 9-6 at the half after being down 1-4.

Edit:  Cornell 8-2 with 1:36 to go in first half.  Pannell 2 goals, 3 assists--the last assist very nice.

Edit: 8-2 at the half; shots 30-12; Fiore with 4 saves; goals by Pannell (2); Bronzino; Lang; Lau; McMichael; Gilbane; Mike O'Neil.  Middies doing some scoring.

Penn 5, Duke 0 at the half!!!

Jeff Dudley, uncle of current Cornell middie Jack Dudley, does a 90-minute interview with Richie Moran for Inside Lacrosse.  Richie in effect takes us through his entire lacrosse career, spending a good bit of time on his coming to Cornell and the very successful early days of his Cornell tenure.  Lots of good memories for those of us who lived through the Moran era of Cornell lacrosse.

Hockey / College hockey comes to Cape Cod
August 25, 2010, 09:10:19 AM
This morning's Cape Cod Times reports that Army and Colgate will open their season on October 9 here in Hyannis in what is being called the Cape Cod Collegiate Hockey Classic.  I'm guessing this is due in part to long-time Army (and Olympics-winning) coach Jack Riley being retired here on the Cape (and living across the street from us) and the fact that his two sons have succeeded him as Army head coaches.  Game time 7pm at the brand new Hyannis Youth & Community Center (not one but two hockey rinks).  Tickets $12.
