I haven't, since I assume he doesn't check this forum, so I was hoping someone with a line of contact would communicate it to him. But I'm happy to try DMing him.

Kudos to PC.  There may not be another school in all D-1 that would do that.

The question for me is whether PC would've done the same thing prior to the existence of the transfer portal.

I have no philosophical objection to a student-athlete getting a disproportionate amount of tutoring or other help in order to be able to pass a class they otherwise might not, and I think that's where Cornell's stance lies as well, but it sure does help that they try not to admit kids who aren't capable of the work in the first place.

Not quite. The "Black Diamond" route and all other Delaware, Lackawanna, and Western routes that had served Ithaca off and on ended in May, 1959. Two weeks after the last Black Diamond, the "Maple Leaf," a nighttime Toronto-NYC route that was a Lehigh Valley Railroad / Canadian National Railway joint venture, added Ithaca as a stop to absorb the demand. (ETA: I only knew the basics of the above because my Mom & Dad, Helen '62 and Paul '60 - Brooklynites both - each traveled to Cornell and back by train on a regular basis for most of their time as undergrads.)

what a sophomore year and then never quite had the same touch. got a cup of coffee in boston but then washed out (or bailed) fairly quickly. +/- not great in the IHL and i wonder if he wasn't enough help on defense to be worth the almost a point a game you got from him.

Watching the "HAD" line skate and score - Hughes, Andison, Derraugh - was among the few truly sublime experiences available to us during the stretch between ECAC titles prior to Schafer's return. But hey, Hughes's son is on the way, current women's coach Derraugh has three kids of his own; anybody want to try to get ahold of Trent Andison up in Ontario to ask what he can contribute? (Trent, btw, spent all of a single season playing after Cornell, in the now-kaput English League, while Doug had a really solid European career almost right up until arriving in his current job in 2005.)

Even so, alumnus merely means former student; without the degree, "graduate" would've been improper, but not alumnus. Hahvahd in particular may not love people without degrees holding themselves out as Hahvahd alumni, but they certainly don't mind Bill Gates's and Mark Zuckerberg's donated millions.

That link is missing some confirmed OOC games. If accurate, the first three weekends of 2027 are all on the road (starting with Omaha)

The information at the link was mostly to establish the league schedule, and is in addition to the OOC games we've learned about.
