Truly stupid play-calling and time-out calling inside the 10.

A 3rd down stop would be nice.

Quote from: Trotsky on November 07, 2025, 08:09:30 PMGood game so far.  I love how we are pushing it up out of our D zone so quickly.  That's been a real wet blanket for years.
Wider ice at Bright helps the breakout.

Red started down 3-12, came back to tie at 55 but late 3-pointer gave Kent State 58-55 lead at the half.

Quote from: Al DeFlorio on October 25, 2025, 03:06:26 PMWe must have a QB who can hit an open receiver.

The season was sort of lost the moment their best offensive weapon Sam Musungu was declared out for the season with an offseason knee injury. I'd like to see the freshman QB get some reps.  Must as well build towards next season.
Right.  Took five weeks to find two backs who can run the ball.  Now give them one QB who can pass it.

Big plus to have a QB who can lead a receiver.  3rd and long is no big deal.  All but impossible for Cornell at 3rd and 7.

October 25, 2025, 02:50:58 PM
Postings on FanLax fall scrimmages thread say MD scrimmage was 6-6 at half and 11-9 MD after three.  Perfetto, then Nurry at attack with Goldstein and Firth.  Waldman, Robinson and Luzzi 1st middies.  Nikolic apparently out.

Quote from: scoop85 on October 25, 2025, 02:19:10 PMI'm astounded at how often football coaches can't see what's in front of them.
a) Fog of war.
b) Duffy Daugherty, Michigan State coach circa the Marinaro era (paraphrasing): "Monday morning, anyone can tell me the right play to run. On Saturday afternoon, coaches have 25 seconds." He also had a bunch of Yoga Berra-isms led by, "My only feeling about superstition is that it's unlucky to be behind at the end of the game."
Swanstrom had a Brown time-out to think about it.  And think about whether his QB can feather a pass over a defender to his receiver.

Quote from: dag14 on October 24, 2025, 10:34:16 PMWomen beat Harvard 5-2.  The game was not as close as the score might indicate.

I thought otherwise. While we were the better team, Harvard looks improved and didn't make things easy on us. A few defensive breakdowns by Harvard was the difference.
Shots pretty even.

Quote from: chimpfood on October 18, 2025, 05:59:34 PMBut the quote "I'm going to get my degree" is promising.

Like Angello getting his degree?
Lines like "I value getting my degree"/"my family has always valued education"/"hockey doesn't last forever and you always want a backup plan" are standard fare quotes—-I wouldn't read too much into them.

How can you be negative about this. Angello said he's coming back to get his degree. That's nothing but positive. You really had to stretch it this time.

Try to sit back and enjoy the good things in life. If you look for them, you'll find some, even in today's climate.
I'm literally just saying that a player saying he wants to earn his degree doesn't indicate much of anything about whether that player will stay four years, which is what others were suggesting.

It was a different poster, not I, who brought up Angello leaving early despite "getting his degree."
Half-full:  Great.  He said he's coming back to get his degree.  Happy to hear that.

Half-empty:  Yeah, right.  He said that, but I doubt he really will.  Typical.

Quote from: Ken711 on October 18, 2025, 02:21:42 PMCornell 9 Bucknell 7 at the half. At least one of my hopes for this game has happened. Leading rusher at the half with 51 yards is Air Force transfer Jordan Triplett. Also freshman RB John McAuliffe has 31 yards.
Now let's see a freshman QB.

Quote from: Give My Regards on October 17, 2025, 10:39:01 PMNot that it matters that much in an exhibition, but Katz did not play tonight.  Keopple played into the second, with Cournoyer taking over for him.

Whoops...not sure how I blew that, but somehow Koepple at the start of the 2nd looked "different" to me. You're clearly right, especially now that I see Koepple's jersey number in some photos I took at the start of the 2nd.

Speaking of jersey numbers, the font seems different this year. Specifically, the "3" is a little weird.
Player names were better sans serif.  Look was cleaner.
