Hockey / Re: Cornell vs Colgate, 2/7/26

That goal interference call is pretty bizarre given the calls I have seen happen all year on those types of play.

The D is riding the Cornell kid from 3-4 ft out of the crease all the way thru to the goalie and has his stick around him to control him.  Not sure what else he could have done other than fall down once they started gliding.  Once they got into the crease which he can do then what he could have done other than what he did. He tried to not hit the goalie but the D gave him no out and is clearly pushing him

Hockey / random ticket question?

What made the Colgate game become a sellout?  Are they suddenly traveling in droves this year to Lynah?

the final 2 home games have 100s left.

if they do the job vs the bottom teams and lose to Quin, getting to the Semis should be enough.  but there is a 1-2 seed there for the taking.

just the BU game flip makes them a 1 seed.

if you go thru the leagues
Atlantic will get 1
B10 has 3 that would have to lose before Wisc at 14
CCHA has two teams 13-15
ECAC has 3 before you get to Harv 21
HE has 2 before you get to Uconn
NCHC has 4

You can see Uconn or Mass, Miami,  Minn St, Wisc stealing bids, Harvard as a stretch

so that means 10-11th is the worst cutoff?

Odds of all those multi bid conf having a total WC is low.
13th is probably safe, but 12th is probably 90% safe

Clarkson only has 6 wins but 3 came vs the top 4 teams.

vs the top 5 teams

Quin has Princ (2x) Cornell/Dart/Harvard
Cornell has Quin/Princ
Dart has Harv/Quin/Princ and 1 less game
Princ has Quin (2x) Cornell/Harvard/Dart
Harv has Dart/Princ/Quin and 1 less game

Need to handle the teams from 6th on down to get this done.

Some sports you have the X that come to every game and the Y who come on occasion.

Cornell has the 50-60% townie side who come all the time, The 20% students who show up half the time and then the rest is filler. Harvard everyone shows up.  BU if they play here.

Pro arenas are all over in how many STs they sell but they have so many more games that many people sell off 25-50% of the STs.  That means many people its that once a yr or once ever thing and people want to get wowed.

I dont think a better experience draws more casuals to a Cornell game.  Better score board work and music would make it more fun for those of us there all the time though

If you provide services like food and it cost less than $20 you have to allow for it to be purchased with cash, or provide ATMs that would take cash and give back fee less cards that don't expire.

The other part is that you cant offer a cash vs CC rate.

I wonder how Cornell plans on dealing with the new Cash laws that start on March 20th?

Not a big deal for Hockey but it does force some things to happen for Lax season.
