Hockey / IHS Boys Hockey
February 04, 2026, 10:54:56 AM
In other local team news, the Ithaca High School Boys Varsity team is ranked number one in New York State, currently at 13-2. While there probably isn't a future Cornell Varsity player on the team, go check them out if you need more hockey in your life. They are 5-0 at home and 9-1 in the last 10 games.

Happy Christmas, Hanukkah, Festivus and all the Rest to my favorite online community. I love our near daily airing of grievances, detailed stat breakdowns (and emotional ones) and shared love of history, hockey and snark.

This place has gotten me through some tough times as a lovely distraction. I hope you have a wonderful day!

I was wondering when the last Cornell outdoor game was- and if there would be interest in a Schoellkopf Field game?

Sucks!

No, for real. The ECAC preview each week all but does not mention Cornell hockey. All they can muster to say about the team is that they might play this week and are "inconsistant... umm everything" Bryan Sullivan has anti-cornell bias!

fire it up!

fromHockeyjournal.com

Six-foot-four forward Byron Bitz graduated this spring from Cornell with a degree in business. For a while, it looked like his next order of business wouldn't be with the Bruins, who drafted Bitz 107th overall in 2003. But days before camp opened, he put his name on the dotted line.

"It wasn't too bad," Bitz said of the wait to close a deal. "It could've been worse, waiting until mid-August or something to see where I was going to be."

Even though it took a little longer than expected to get a deal done, Bitz knew the Bruins wanted him. After all, he'd run into Bruins Director of Player Development Don Sweeney a few times during the season.

"He gave a few things that I need to work on and stuff," Bitz explained.

Also in camps:

Moulson for LA Kings: doing well, getting goals and getting no respect.
Pokulok for DC: still missing out on some contact drills. ::twak::

Still no word on McCutchen or Carefoot. anyone else?

Hockey / Undrafted players
June 30, 2007, 11:22:55 AM
Will any of our freshmen- who went undrafted- be draft eligable next season (ex: B. Nash or P. Kennedy)?

edit: B Nash is a rising sophomore and Kennedy is an incoming freshman.

Hockey / # all gone (o.t.)
October 15, 2006, 09:57:29 PM
from NHL.com

All Gone -- And then there were none. When Montreal rookie Guillaume Latendresse took the ice for his first NHL game, he wore No. 84. Not only was he the first player in league history to wear that number, as the Society For International Hockey Research notes, the use of No. 84 means that every number from 1 to 99 has been used on an NHL jersey.

interesting. will they ever go to 3# jerseys? (ex- 747)
