How do we know that he died from the heat? Nothing in the article proves that. It even says that he died before they were to perform and that he had cardiac arrest. Maybe he had unknown cardiac problems. Certainly students have been found to have previously unknown problems.

They say he collapsed in the heat. Well duh, it was hot, he couldn't have collapsed in the cold.

It was bad reporting to even say that he collapsed in the heat, because it seems to imply that it was due to  the heat, even though it doesn't have any proof of that. A more reasonable statement, until more is known, would be to just say that he died after collapsing due to "sudden cardiac arrest."

The author made it worse when it went on to discuss the temperature and what the school did and didn't do with game times. Better reporting would have been to first acknowledge that we don't know how much, if any, the heat was a factor.

The way words are used matters and we all need to be careful how we say or write things.

This is not to say that heat wasn't a factor. It may well have been. But until we know the facts, we should be careful.

Talk about poor press release. I'd suggest that something went wrong. A student seems to have lost all faculties. And the university is losing all credibility. Don't they have some professional people advising them on press/community relations?

I don't recall ever lining up outdoors before 4 am.  I enjoyed the Barton Hall community.  Where else can you play frisbee at 6 am?  Yes, those were the days!

Did you get tickets for 66-67? It was either then or maybe the previous season where we just started our own line the night before. Nothing like Barton was organized at that time. I don't know when Cornell actually took over the process. When I'm talking about we had our own sign in sheet to keep line orderly.

He is not organizing transportation or accommodations. You will need to arrange that on your own, although he can make some suggestions if you opt in this opportunity.

We don't know the price of the tickets until they actually become available, but last year the single ticket price was about $50. For comparison, he recalled, the price for tickets on the secondary market like SeatGeek was $120-180.  He won't ask for any money up front; people can send him the money via Venmo or Zelle or by check once the tickets are secured. 

If CHA members want to get extra tickets for friends or family, that's fine with him, but understand that you will be solely responsible for payment.

I spoke with Jeff and he's okay posting this here.

As you can see extra tickets for non-CHA members are okay. I'm going to ask if eLynah posters can also get tickets directly from him.

If not, I'm willing to be the go between.

In (distant) past years I would be able to get the non-travel partner part of the ECAC schedule the fall before the season. And I was allowed to post it around January 1.

But with the new administration that has not been possible,

That's not even "blaming" though - it's just "money, currently, matters to the family". Which I think many of us can relate to! Especially given how damn much Cornell costs, and that Ivies don't give scholarships to athletes.

Be careful how you say this. Ivies don't give Athletic Scholarships, but they do give scholarships to athletes and many receive them.

No,I don't think you erased anything. For the last couple of years I've not been able to get the "early warning schedule" from my source

For sure I'll post as soon as I can, or if anyone gets word from other schools, like OOC games, please post. The question of number of games, particularly for Ivy schools, may cause late posting as well.
