Hockey / Re: Cornell-Bemidji NCAA regionals postgame
March 30, 2009, 12:15:06 AM
From collegehockeystats.com:

08-09: 38th, 15.3% 31/203 (3 SHGA)
07-08:  8th, 21.5% 39/181 (5)
06-07: 50th, 13.6% 21/154 (4)
05-06: 40th, 15.9% 36/227 (5)
04-05:  1st, 24.3% 43/177 (2)
03-04: 38th, 16.0% 28/175 (3)
02-03: 14th, 22.6% 38/168 (2)
01-02:  3rd, 28.0% 40/143 (0!)

Switching to ECAC stats:
00-01:  2nd, 21.1% 31/147 (2)
99-00: 10th, 15.3% 24/157 (3)

seems rather bimodal: either as close to the top as doesn't matter, or mediocre bordering on atrocious

Um.  Brown 2 Yale 0.
I was all set to say that the score of 1-0 would never hold up. . .
Hypothetically speaking, what would happen if brown wins tonight and 3 more? Would they actually get the NCAA autobid, or would they be excluded by the .500 rule? I can't remember if that only applies to at large bids or not.

While we're (or at least you) are being crotchety, when's the last time "Star" was played? I feel like I haven't heard that in ages.
Yikes, I don't even remember how "Star" goes anymore... which suggests we stopped playing it sometime in the midst of my four years.  Or that my memory is terrible.
I know that we played it at http://www.collegehockeystats.net/0506/boxes/mcoruni1.f25

I distinctly remember cocking up the final phrase in the solo with Lowell standing about 3 feet away. ::pain::

Can't say whether it's been played since.

Season started 13-1-3 through @ RPI.

Anyone know what our record for most alums in the NHL at one time is (at the same time, not just the same season)? If Moulson would get called back up, I would guess we would be pretty close.

I guess they forgot to account for the massive suck exuded by new jersey in their travel planning.

"And with Cornell fans its dreaded band expected to make the trip to Schenectady, Messa will be rocking this weekend."
How many other people thought for a second that he has an identity issue involving Jar-Jar Binks?

If you can't win on senior night, against your archrival, with a first round bye on the line...

QuoteThe senior was injured in last Friday night's win over Colgate, and the team eagerly waits his return.

A bit vague, but it doesn't sound too serious.
