Full schedule dropped

https://cornellbigred.com/sports/mens-basketball/schedule

Pretty unfortunate thing I noticed is that out of 11 home games agsinst D1 opponents, 7 are on days where nobody will attend (1 the night beofre thanksgiving break, 1 during finals, 3 during winter break, 2 during february break).

Good schedule though, interesting opponents, seems promising.

Quote from: rss77 on August 15, 2026, 05:46:04 PMCall me a little uneasy about the Out of Conference schedule.  Ivy teams have always swam across the tide in basketball given lack of athletic scholarships.  Now the gap is being widened by the NIL, transfer portal, and the 5 year rule.   On the plus side one could say that they are probably getting good guarantee checks from Syracuse, St. Bonaventure, Gonzaga, and Washington. I see the women are playing UConn and Syracuse-same reasoning I guess but taking a beating on the court. Will state that the Ivies have one positive to sell to recruits-no organized summer practices.

I'm excited to see us play top notch teams. I'll be at the Syracuse game for one. The game @ Michigan State last year was extremely competitive, we had them on the ropes for hte first half. Glad to see the program get paid and get some exposure.

Here is the (partial?) 26-27 OOC Schedule for your Cornell Big Red:
11/2 vs Pepperdine
11/11 @ St Bonaventure
11/14 vs UNC Greensboro
11/18 @ Syracuse
11/21 vs Morgan State
11/24 vs Bucknell
12/2 @ LIU Brooklyn
12/5 @ Colgate
12/8 vs Albany
12/28 @ Washignton
12/31 @ Gonzaga

Assume they might add a few non-D1 tuneups, but this is 12 OOC games and we played 13 last year so probably an almost complete OOC schedule.

Yale's 6'10 freshman commit at center chose them over Florida auburn asu and I get to watch "Kaspar Sepp" for another year

Thought I'd start this topic off a bit early with an update on current commitments

Luke Kennevan, 6'4" Shooting Guard: Transfer from D2 Lock Haven, where he averaged 10.1/4.3/2.5 on 49.8/39.7/73.2% shooting. Seems super random honestly, but then again Cornell is faced with a lot of recruiting limitations. Super curious about what the coaching staff saw and how he'll pan out.

Carson Davis, 6'8" Power Forward: Brings some much needed size to a team that really lacked a true big last year. All time leading scorer at Meigs HS (OH). Also had offers from Air Force, Jackson State, and six D2 schools.

Quinn Gibson, 6'6" Small Forward: Joins Cornell after a postgrad year at Winchendon. Offered his senior year by D2 West Chester

Mikehi Williams, 6'6" Small Forward: Also had offers from Lehigh, Campbell, Rice, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, South Carolina State, Georgia Southern, and two D2 schools.

Trey Williams, 6'3" Point Guard. Also had offers from Dartmouth and Navy.

Sage Mateo, 6'2" Point Guard. Also had offers from Brown and Columbia.

they're saying its because MacConnell was shopping Lee around

Mañon got paid in the mid-six figures to play at Vandy this year, I imagine AK could probably get something similar if maybe a little less.

Oops, accidentally posted the previous message twice

AK is most likely graduating early, which is going to be a huge blow for the team unfortunately.

belt to fucking ass

Is the stream still not working for anyone else?

Showdown today at 2pm against Penn at THE Palestra.

Penn is having a miserable season, close to being in the bottom 50 in kenpom at 307. 3 of their 4 wins are against bottom 50 teams in the country(!)

Ethan Roberts and Nick Spinoso are still legitimate scoring threats, but with the lack of depth this team has, expect an easy win for the Big Red.

Our lack of a deep bench has been and will continue to hurt us.

The boys play Colgate right now if anyone is watching. Extremely sloppy start from the Raiders. ESPN had them as slight favorites but I'm not worried. Williams looking good so far with 8 points already, 21-12 Cornell with 13:20 left in the first

Is there any bar nearby thats showing the game? me and my buddy waited too long to get tickets
