Hockey / Re: HARVARD SUCKS
November 11, 2011, 11:18:42 PM
This was my first game of the year and I liked what I saw in the first.  Harvard seemed to out play us in the second and it wad fairly balanced in the third.  Lots of penalties on us in the 2nd and 3rd... I couldn't tell if this was from sloppy play or the refs just being a bit quick with the whistle.  I don't think we even had a power play after the first.

Andy had a good game.  Just as Dafatone mentioned, terrific glove save in the 2nd.

Overall great win... Lets see if we can grab another 2 points at Dartmouth tomorrow!

Oh yeah... did anyone else want to punch those UNH fans that were in the "box" seats... right behind the Cornell section?  Grrrrrr.....

I thought during the first period we got dominated even though we came out with the only goal.  Looked like UNH was out hustling and out hitting us... and we had way too many turnovers in our zone!

We played a lot better during the 2nd period but that disputed goal was the turning point even though it was a tied game.  As for the third... well, as Bill said, mutli-goal comebacks are not our forte...  ugh.

BTW - any video of the disputed goal?  Hard to tell from watching the big screen at the game.  Probably not worth it at this point but just wanted to see how close this goal was....

Fans of other schools would probably say the same thing about "Let's go Red".

True, though we do spice it up a bit with other chants (and jeers).  It just seemed all they had was U! N! H! and those stupid thunder stick things.

Maybe we should combat the U!-N!-H! chant with our own:  L!-G!-R!  :)

Quote from: Larry72In the 2003 Frozen Four semi-final game against UHN, Shane Palahicky scored the first goal during the first period on a shot deflection.  The "ref" waived the goal off saying that Shane deflected the puck with a high stick.  The "ref" was incorrect according to all the replays that followed that showed Shane's stick below the cross-bar as it deflected the puck.  UHN went on to win the game 3-2.  Every time, there is a deflection goal that looks just like Shane's I think back to that bad-call that very likely caused Cornell a shot at the NCAA championship game in 2003.

I still remember when we pulled LeNeveu for the extra skater and Baby took a shot at a wide open net.  At the last second, the UNH goalie popped his head up and blocked the shot with his fricken helmet.... ARGHHHH!!!

Looking forward to this game... not looking forward to the boring, monotonous U-N-H chant.  Man, they need to change it up...

Rooting for him wherever he goes... but it was nice having him on the Bruins!

Haha... interesting "jock camera shot" in the beginning... oops!

EDIT:  Not sure if this was posted on the forum, but here is the video of "We Want BITZ!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfEfDfJsbgQ

Looks like Pelosi will be the 2010 speaker...

I'm surprised we haven't gotten Ken Dryden to be a convocation speaker.  Maybe I have a little bit of hockey bias... but he would of been a huge upgrade from Danny Glover.  Ugh.
