So apparently we're the only game on Friday (and one of only two overall) on ESPN+ and not ESPN2 or the U.

What's next?  We find out we've been pre-empted for another hour of cornhole?

Quote from: chimpfood on March 22, 2026, 04:00:56 PMWhy are we so against intra conference matchups but we can play BU and Denver in the NCAA tourney every year?

I don't even mind if they want to avoid intraconference games if possible, but when the alternative is having the lower seed play a better team on the better team's turf, the prejudice to the lower seed seems to far outweigh whatever the harm of an intraconference matchup is.

[Counterpoint: don't lose to Princeton.]

I agree, but thems the "rules". I could never understand the intraconference concern, especially if it does what this does. Maybe it makes sense if teams just met in the league playoffs, but that's not a problem here. We haven't played Dartmouth since 1/23, almost 2 months ago.

Years ago we used to complain about this a lot, playing Minny in Minny or Wisc in Wisc. Now it's DU in Colorado.

But if the coaches won't complain, expect it's here forever.

My man, my sophomore year ('85-'86), we played Denver in Denver, despite winning the ECAC at the Gahden.  Two games total goals.  We were the only road team to "win" one of the games, losing by one goal overall.  My ass has been chapped ever since.

AK Okereke playing a hell of a game against Nebraska, and the Big Red are getting a lot of pub during this broadcast.

Quote from: rss77 on March 14, 2026, 05:02:32 PMI see Noard had a subpar game. With the height deficit-if he is not hitting-Cornell's hurtin'.  Defi itely agree with prior poster next year will be a challenge.  Jaques definitely needs to the portal or bring in a JUCO transfer or 2. Also in reference to BearLover-the reason that Cornell went to the current offensive philosophy which started under Earl-he knew he could not outrecruit HYP and the offense was a way to counter the talent advantage.

I legitimately believe(d) that Brian Earl should have been considered for Coach of the Year for what he did with a team that could not out-recruit others in the Ivies, let alone any other competitive conference.

Quote from: Mr. Niss on March 14, 2026, 11:26:40 AMI get wanting the best team to make the NCAA, but this officiating is ridiculous.

I thought it was standard mediocre officiating at worst, but not a decisive factor. The big issue is our inability to box out or pick up a loose ball in the defensive end. We're still in the game but will need to play much better defense to have a puncher's chance.

Not suggesting it was decisive.  It wasn't.  We weren't winning this game.

Quote from: chimpfood on February 27, 2026, 10:33:35 PMWe stormed the court. Not sure why but it was fun
because everyone is appointing Yale in advance, I guess. the sweet 16 Cornell squad had multiple ivy losses too.

The Sweet 16 team had only one Ivy loss, an inexplicable defeat to a weak Penn team.

My recollection is that a flu bug was running through the team that weekend of the Penn loss.

Watching this team when it's playing poorly is harder than reading this forum through the Russian spam.

Great recovery by Jon and the lads so far to get right back into the thick of it.  All they need to do is come in 3rd.

The story of this team.  Great first half, destroyed in the second.

so far we've given away three points with missed free throws, not even 1/4 way through the game

Heads need to roll.

I don't know whose.  Maybe serve up an equipment manager.  Three straight second-half collapses can't happen, especially the third one to an inferior team when we had a 15-point lead.
