Don't forget Jon Daniels and A.J. Preller, General Managers for the Rangers and Padres respectively.

Originally a marching band song, I believe, the old "Who eats the moose" was a favorite when transplanted to Lynah.

There's a lot of value - and locker room respect - for a player who sticks up for his teammates and is all about winning, even if it means taking a penalty.

That Laxpower forum user, who goes by "humb le" on that forum, I believe, has been doing lacrosse "bracketology" for many years and, with respect to the teams that make the tournament, has a very strong track record of predictions.  Though no one but the committee knows the exact basis, in any given year, for picking the field, there are criteria in the rules and humb le has, over the years, been able to refine his analysis so that his predictions are very, very close to the end results if not dead on.  What he and no one else has been able to do is reliably seed the teams.

I, for one, would put a lot of faith in what he says.

Quote from: George64Cornell Red Alert: Scrivens v Greening in Toronto Sun Saturday/tonight 11/12

From the ESPN.com, a preview of tonight's game. Apparently, according to Coach Ron Wilson, the naysayers on ELF didn't do a good enough prepping Ben for the NHL primetime ;-).

"Wilson said Scrivens is playing well, although he expects there to be a learning curve as he adjusts to the NHL.

"He's a talented athlete," Wilson said. "What he's got to go through is the experience of playing in this kind of market, dealing with the sudden fame and attention. That's hard to deal with if you're (used to) Cornell, where not a heck of a lot is going on. ... This is entirely different.

"There's no school you go to how to handle a crush of media and attention. You can't go anywhere and get that."

Random thought, if this game goes to a shoot-out, I wonder if Colin Greening will be able to make a case for being one of the first 3 shooters. You figure with all the practices they had at Cornell, he should know how to beat Ben.

Could it be that Ron is still bitter about Cornell and his brother Randy's nightmare at Lynah circa 1979?  ::whistle::

IHS defeated Pittsford HS this afternoon 6-5 in double overtime to advance to the State Championship game on Saturday at 11 at Cicero North Syracuse HS.  IHS will play Farmingdale.

Sort of back to the original topic, Ithaca High School (with Adam Fiore) defeated West Genessee HS in their State tournament game this afternoon 15-10.  IHS moves on to play the winner of Section 5 (Rochester area) vs Section 6 (Buffalo area) next week.

Add that Jack Duydley and David Lau have been invited to participate in the 2011 USILA North/South Game.

And add that Rob Pannell has been named USILA Player of the Year and, for the second year in a row, Attackman of the Year.
