Today's article in the Ithaca Journal mentions that there were last minute changes to avoid conflicts with the women's team schedule. I suppose that could be why.

The guy in Teagle with the jerseys had a bunch of extras upstairs when the jerseys were on sale - I think if you just ask him, he'll give you one.

The Teagle guy told me that this year the ECAC(HL?) is actually embroidered right on the jersey, rather than having a patch (or at least that's what I thought he said...), so there was no need to take the patches off of last year's jerseys - and he also has extras if you want them for previous years jerseys.

Later in the game Saturday that same old usher then walked down the first row of A asking to see everyone's ticket to verify their seats. This was even though everyone was standing comfortably on the bench. After booting a few friends a few rows back in A, we discussed this policy with him. He basically said his hands were tied and he was being forced to do it, but "if we could fit them on the bench" then he didn't care. [/q]
Because (I was told) a girl showed up mid-game and found people in her seat (how shocking....) and so she went to complain to the usher, who then was forced to do something.

[Q]15.4.2005 | Servette verpflichtet Mike Knoepfli
4/15/2005 | Servette signs Mike Knoepfli
Geneva-Servette has made their first transfer in regards to the new season and signed the college forward Mike Knoepfli. The 23-year-old Swiss-Canadian, who up until now played for the Cornell Big Red at the highest level of college hockey, signed with Geneva for one year with options. This season he had 12 goals and 13 assists in 35 games.

and in French... (be warned I suspect my ability to translate French is much worse than for German) http://www.tdg.ch/tghome/toute_l_info_test/dossiers0/HC_Geneve_Servette/keller_et_aeschlimann.html

Mike Knoepfli enjoyed a flattering reputation in the university championships. He was considered not only a leader but also, as a forward, the most offensive of Cornell. (somehow I don't think that came out quite right in English...)

In the race for transfers, Chris McSorley (er… burned the politeness at??) Lugano, Bern and Fribourg, were also interested in the Swiss-Canadian, a rare commodity much desired in the Swiss hockey market.

This page http://www.hockeyfans.ch/cgi-bin/transfers.pl lists him under "in discussion" with Bern and Fribourg-Gotteron, and on the Bern page someone said he has a Swiss passport.

"Cornell rejects" makes sense for a Colgate where the applicant probably got the two schools confused, or RPI. They have some pretensions to academics.

Kind of uppity when it's Cornell vs. St. Lawrence or Niagara. Because the St. Lawrence fans are thinking, "Yeah, and you know *you'd* be in Cambridge not Ithaca if your SATs were 50 points better." [/q]
Yup, that's exactly what Colgate fans were thinking last year, but we had a response to it, as I remember:
Colgate: "SUNY Ithaca! SUNY Ithaca!"
Cornell: "Cornell rejects! Cornell rejects!"
Colgate: "Harvard rejects! Harvard rejects!"
Cornell: "Didn't bother! Didn't bother!"
