Yeah, I was also pondering our blackhole/vacuum/suck cheer...  It seems that if the opposing goalie is truly vacuuming or sucking everything up (including the puck) this would make him highly effective...  Any thoughts?  Of course I understand the thought process behind the cheer, and it always sucks to suck, but this was just one of those deep thoughts moments...while trying to avoid doing any work today...

actually there was another article just last year in USA Hockey saying all the same things...  But then they went ahead and ranked lynah 2nd and Yost 1st anyway...  I'm pretty sure it was discussed on elynah when it came out...

still though, that would've assumed that clarkson couldn't win those two games without him...  presumptuous…  comes back to bite us every time…

Hey, the new fans can learn from this too.  Not that anyone on elynah took part in this, but the “Season’s Over” chant Friday night was a little premature, too say the least (just like the keys in a one goal game earlier this year).

I was just reading these articles today.  I think the discussion in broken up into two articles (I'll have to check when I get home), but one is about Yost, and the other is about college rinks in general.  Both mention Cornell in the main text as well.  They give Cornell the credit for educating the Michigan fans back in the 1990 NCAAs.  However, I find it annoying that they devote a page describing "Michigan's" cheers.  If they are going to give us the credit for being the originals, they should properly title their cheer guide.

Actually, what about making up some flyers to pass out at the games, with the correct cheers on them (without the profanity of course)...  Because the sad truth is, that most everyone logging into ELF already knows it's "goon", and the mass of people saying "lose" will never know their follies unless something is done to tell them...

on that note...  i'm getting really sick of the dumb-asses who think Mckee is trying to get the crowd started by slapping his stick to let HIS TEAM-MATES know that the power play is over!!!  In fact the clapping that ensues is actually counter productive in that it drowns out McKee and the other warning device from giving the head's up to the defensemen!!!  PLEASE STOP IT STUPID!!!

Actually, I was kind of wondering if there was some kind of draft ineligibility going on.  Why is this?  Was he eligible for last year's draft, and they passed him up?  I can't believe, when considering some of the other players the NHL drafts from around the league (including the Red), that they would consciously pass on Vesce...  His numbers speak for themselves; regardless of his size...

I know size is an unfortunate issue in the NHL, but come on, look at the numbers Martin St. Louis is putting up (5'9'', 185 lbs, and an ECAC veteran himself)...  Plus, as we all know, Vesce plays a lot bigger and tougher than 5'8''...  Weren't any of these GMs watching the Frozen Four last year?

Sorry about this rant, but I had to vent...  Barry Melrose on NHL tonight put it best when he said, "It's unfortunate that in the NHL, little guys are always having to prove they can play, while the big guys always have to prove that they can't"...

Go Big (and little) Red!

Anybody know the draft situation with Vesce?
