When was the last time Cornell was ranked #1 in a national poll?  30+ years?

Where (online) did you find this poll?  It's not on the USAToday website.

Hockey / Barrage them correctly, thank you

Right, don't barrage them with drivel, but do barrage them.  They deserve it, and that's how broken things get fixed.  It probably doesn't take more than holding up the mirror to them:

1 v 13
2 v 29
3 v 28::nut::

says it all.

Hockey / The process...

I just went down to Providence to get my tickets (wanted to pick my seat rather than go pot-luck).  For a big time NCAA event the logistics are definitely high schoolish.

First, you can't get tickets at the Dunkin Donuts center.  Nor can you get them through Ticketmaster (at least not online).

Buying tickets in person means finding the PC ticket office on the second floor of Alumni Hall (which you have to get to through the warrens of an attached athletic center).

At the ticket office are three people answering phones and scribbling down orders on xeroxed pages that seem to get stacked where-ever around the office.  If you're buying a ticket in person there's a grand total of 1 person there who's actually selling them.  That's because there's only one computer online with the database and hooked to a ticket printer.  I guess the xeroxed orders will go to her eventually.

Everyone there is very nice and trying to be helpfull.

But it's not the efficient, volume oriented operation of the type you'd expect for an event like this.  Very odd.:-P

On the other hand, if MSU lives by a wide open offensive strategy and has a weak defense, particularly on the power play, as Mav fans on USCHO are saying, this game may have the virtue of not being so difficult after all while being somewhat entertaining.

And for $84 we deserve every possible minute of entertainment we can get.
