Bergmann is a junior this coming season.  However, I wonder if there is a possibility she could be selected for the U.S. Olympic team as she performed very well at the Collegiate Series this past August in Lake Placid.

Maybe Gary Thorne would do the play-by-play now that Gio is enrolling.

You may be right, but she did mention in her zoom interview from February 2021 that the NCAA had granted an extra year of eligibility.  See around the 9 min 30 sec mark.

As regarding medical redshirting for the 22-23 season, she played in 11 of the 32 games that season, exceeding the 30% threshold.

Ashley Messier came in as a first year in Fall of 2020.  The Ivy League canceled sports that year, so she withdrew from Cornell to preserve her eligibility.  She played the 21-22, 22-23, 23-24, and 24-25 seasons, so she has exhausted her Ivy eligibility.  Since she first enrolled in 2020, she is entitled to a NCAA fifth year of eligibility due to COVID.

Quote from: VIEWfromKThe guys got hurt in the practices leading up to the season.  All freak things.  None of those injuries occurred in Europe like I expected once I saw the carnage come that preseason game vs Princeton.  They have to figure out a way to stay afloat before the "trade deadline" acquisitions reinforce the depth in the new year.
So what's the timeline on the injured players returning? Seems like:
Mack—back next week
Psenicka—week to week
Fegaras—sometime in the next few weeks(?)
Wallace—next semester
Devlin—next semester
Wolfenberg—who knows, but looked like it will be awhile

Did I forget anyone? Is Mosko hurt too? He has seen no ice time despite being the 7th defenseman last year and Fegaras being out.

Need to get healthy ASAP because the team
 is really struggling right now.

From the Cornell Hockey Association Welcome Picnic (9/29/24), both Devlin and Wallace were in casts with knee scooters.  Devlin's looked like an Aircast Boot and Wallace's looked like a hard cast.  Fegaras didn't seem to be injured at that date.  Ironically, Psenicka looked to have a wrist cast (don't know if this is related to his current injury).  Here are the links to the photos.  You can scroll through.

She is #19.  If she plays, that should give a boost to the offense.

Quote from: WederPretty good results for Cornell with Rory Guilday and Karel Prefontaine not in the lineup.

Guilday isn't hurt. She was with Team USA for games against Canada.

Lineups for Brown this past Saturday:

K. Chan - Delianedis - Fleming
Rud - Van Gelder - Adams
Schiff - Avar - Jockims
C. Chan - Perron-Roy - Yu

R. Dwyer - G. Dwyer
Regalado - Messier
Thibodeau - Grober

Overall, much much improvement in passing and skating last week.  I think the lines are starting to gel a lot better and I the passing is becoming a lot more crisp and confident.

This weekend, the bottom two teams in the ECAC (Harvard and Dartmouth) come into Lynah.  We should get Guilday back from the Rivalry Series although Derraugh may choose to give her some rest.

Anyone more tied in know what the deal is with Préfontaine and when she is expected back?

Did you see Swanstrom get into the kick returner on the sidelines?

I was yelling at my phone "WTF, WTF?!!!, You're an Ivy League student.  How can you not know the fair catch rules?!!!"

Here are lines as I saw:

Game 1:

K. Chan - Delianedis - Adam
Prefontaine - Van Gelder - Fleming
Avar - Rud - Jockims
Schiff - Perron-Roy - Yu

Guilday - G. Dwyer
Regalado - Messier
MacEachern - Grober
R. Dwyer

Game 2:

Same except Rory Guilday was out, replaced by Rose Dwyer.  Abby Thibodeau replacing Rose Dwyer.

I will post my impressions in a separate note.

Rose and Grace Dwyer (and sister Lucy on the lacrosse team).

Amber and Karlee Overguard (twins) from circa 2010?

Quote from: WederForward Leah MacSween, who played in one game this past season, is in the transfer portal.

Also Abby Ruggiero.

Of course she (Ruggiero) was out of Ivy eligibility.  I wonder if Derraugh plans to pull someone in from the transfer portal like he did with Katie Chan.  There's a lot of talent there.
