Hockey / Re: Should He Stay or Should He Go 2014

I am of the stay camp.  A question was raised as to who would you want running the bench. In a post long long ago, George Gwozdecky was bantered about when the openings at UCONN and Maine were available. Did any one watch Denver?? They didn't exactly light the world on fire offensively. They were goaltending, defense first.Yes they did have success but they also fell trap to lack of offense. In my honest opinion the players need to shoot the puck more often. Wayne Gretzky always said 100% of the shots you don't take don't go in. Watch Ferlin during the Union game. How many times did he circle the net with the puck and not generate anything on offense. A great coach once said, I don't want a kid who can stick handle in a phone booth. The reason is what did he do to get himself in that situation in the first place. Of course I also can't stand the SHOOT! cry during the power play, so take it for what it is worth. I truly believe that the next few years are going to place us right back into the national spotlight....ECAC, and NCAA tournaments.

Cant help but think the schedular for the USPHL is a Sucks grad. We had every intention of attending the game tonight, but now that my son is playing in a USPHL playoff game at Merrimack we cant make it. I want to believe that this is totally random.......however. Harvard Sucks.

Hockey / Re: Yale-Brown Weekend

We are picking our son up from School on Saturday and were considering going to the game at Brown. It is about a 2 1/2 hour drive from South Kent to Brown. My question is are we able to get tickets just by walking up? I was never at their rink before and by looking at the seating chart it looks as if there are quite a few reserved sections. Any help would be appreciated.

I like the  one post I saw from the finishyourcheck web site. It says that the Union coach looked like he was mad because he couldn't get in line for the buffet fast enough. Classic. Was also called Coach Fatty by same poster.

I know when the boys were in town last year they stopped at white mana. Heart attack in a sack.

Dont forget about Donovan Ott as well. He played for the Hershey Jr. Bears then the Philadelphia Junior Flyers. He committed prior to his sophmore year at South Kent. AYHL has tons of talent. Agree with Palecco have gotten to watch him play against my son for years, he always played up a birth year.BTW best thing about going to Hackensack for a game against the Avalanche is Brooklyn's pizza shop down the street from the rink.

As one can see I am new to this forum. However I have followed Cornell hockey for the last few years and now have a more vested interest due to my son coming there in a few years. The suggestions that Coach Schafer should be replaced is just plan off the planet. Obviously wins and losses are now becoming paramount to a coaches success but what other qualities does he bring to the program. Yes this was not the greatest year for the Big Red,but they hit a rut, no one quit the compete level was still there and they worked their way back to get within one game of A.C. Last I had checked before this game Yale was 0-3 against Q. Coach Alain made a change and got the win. Coach Schafer will get this back on track and I do firmly believe that this next season will be special.
