A little late, but I gotta disagree with the end of this thread.  Cleary is one of the classiest guys in hockey and in amateur sports, and not because my uncle played against him at Belmont Hill and thought that he was an amazing guy off the ice too.  He's in the US and International Hockey Hall of Fames for a reason, and not just because he led the US to silver and gold medals.  I don't know about the RPI game in '85, but the Sports Illustrated articles on him always talked about what a great sense of humor he had, including patting his head for the 'bald coach' chants.  

CULater'89, I don't know what experiences you've had with him (certainly sounds like no personal ones), or how you are able to tell what galled him to no end...  My Harvard friends *still* talk about how pissed off they are that Shafer took a slapshot at him standing on the bench during a blowout, but I don't know if that had anything to do with him walking off in 1990 - coaches do that pretty often, and we rarely find out why.  Either way, it makes us look kind of small if we can't respect one of college hockey's greats, especially if your arguments are that he "scowled" and that "he believed his teams were vastly superior to ours (and they were...".

OK, please don't kill me for this one.  I'm pretty new here.  

I know that it's highly likely that Lenny is one of the top 2-3 goalies in the country as a soph, and may end up as one of our best ever.

But, is it possible that he's good, but not all-time great?  Consider-

Matt was awesome last year, and he's now taking a bus around South Carolina.

Todd Marr, who was hardly stellar at Northeastern, looked awfully good (3 GA in 2 games) when Lenny was at the WJC.

Lenny got torched, then yanked, at the WJC.

Is it possible that our defense is so great that it's making Lenny look all-world, when he's really 'just' all-american?  

Either way, it doesn't really matter, because noone will be able to score on us, but I'm curious to know what people think.

Do you realize that we are 4-10-3 vs. Havard(sucks) AT LYNAH:-(  since 1984-5?   ::twitch::  ::twitch::  ::twitch::

Brian Boyle is a player.  The bad news is that Harvard was his first choice  :-(  .  The good news is that he didn't get in  ::twitch::  

He's now considering us, Dartmouth, and BU - 6-6 220 at age 18 is a load, and he can play too.

It was a stupid thing to say, but...

"Opportune" is putting it mildly - it was the most heart-rendering goal we've given in a decade or more...

It was Matt's fault that it was a weak goal, not his :-(
