Also, who was the 3rd string goalie on the bench without a name on his jersey?  Someone they pulled off the club team?

According to College Hockey News, Espo "had a setback in practice this week."

This is what I heard at the game Saturday:
Gotovets: ankle (stepped on a puck in practice)
Espo:  Shoulder ("setback" would lead one to think it's his ankle again. I think shoulder is a new problem).

So to sum up, Esposito either suffered a concussion against Colorado College, or had a "setback in practice" which could either be shoulder injury or an ankle injury, or, as one person (somewhat unfairly) speculated, there are off ice issues. Well, that makes the reason for his absence crystal clear.

He was hanging out around the ref locker room throughout the game with some other scratched players.  Wasn't limping and I doubt they'd be allowed to hang out with the team if they had "off ice" issues.  Gotovets wasn't there, maybe he had the sickness? Speculation is fun

Quote from: jtn27On the first goal, we all thought that Iles covered up the puck and that the play was dead, but then a Brock player forced it in. A few minutes later, Cornell scored what looked like the tying goal, but it was disallowed and I couldn't hear the explanation given as to why. So in summation, the revised final score was 3-1 Cornell.

The first Brock goal, Iles stopped it but it slid out behind from under his legs.  A Cornell defender whiffed on clearing it and a Brock player jammed it in under Iles legs, it was a legit goal

I take that back.  I think Andy actually kicked it in himself trying to regain control of the puck behind him after our defender whiffed.

Quote from: RatushnyFanSean Ritchlin (color commentator) is a Michigan grad who won 2 national championships at Michigan.  I thought he was unbiased in his comments.

I would have liked to see a better replay of the De Swardt major call and more explanation.  Some of the other calls were non-penalties in my view.  My only beef is that I would have liked to hear their honest views of the penalty calls.  Overall it was fine, though.

Reffing seemed picky, but it was at least picky both ways.  After De Swardt's ejection and the Chelios ejection in the Union game, it seems the NCAA has given the refs a zero-tolerance directive.  The commentators in the Cornell game were the typical ESPN willy-nilly-agree-with-everything.  Even though Melrose couldn't get school/player names right in the Union game, he tore the reffing apart pretty hard which was kind of nice to hear.  I'd like to hear his commentary on the reffing crews we had at Lynah this year

Finally muted the sound after the 21st mention of the "Michigan 2-0 lead 90 seconds into the game."  These announcers and producers are giving Cornell minimal respect

Can someone post the score?  I can't watch where I am and the ECAC website isn't updating scores.

Quote from: Greg MAre Ferlin/Esposito/Gotovets back?

If I remember correctly Schaeffer said that Esposito could play but he was going to rest him until the playoffs to give him more time to heal. Also, I think Ferlin is supposed to be out 3-6 weeks (this being the first week). Don't know what happened to Gotovets.

Ferlin out 6 weeks with a broken hand
