A lot larger uncertainty this year than most with a new head coach.

BTW, for the '96-'97 season, I was #001 in the ordering for season tix, by virtue of being an older PhD student with credit given for my undergrad days there, '81-'85.   I got two season tix for me and a guest, and (natch) chose B on the C side, pretty far up.

Seeing Lynah come alive again in Spring '96 after many years.   Cornell doesn't feel like Cornell without world-class hockey, and that year Mike quickly took us from nowhere to real competitors.   San-ci-mino!  Thanks Coach, and enjoy your retirement.

I got to see it start in '96, Brad Chartrand, Mike Sancimino, Kyle Knopp, Vinnie Auger et al.   Quite a run you've given us, Coach Shafer.  Thank you, now four more!

"Powerful and empowering, it is an animated red that encourages experimentation and self-expression without restraint; an electrifying, boundaryless shade."

Pantone has rolled out a new color of the year, and it's --- Cornell Red?

Quote from: RichHIt's a nice time to revisit one of my favorite TBRW pages.

Nice iconography in that page, too.   The skeptical bear should be brought back to replace Huggy Bear.

Indeed. I was in Ithaca 3 weeks ago after a long absence, and surprised - no Dunbars, no rebuilt Chapter House.   But yes, the Rongo is apparently still open.

Quote from: TrotskyAnne and I will be there.  Level: Main (we have levels now?), Section C, Row 11, Seat 5.  Stop by and say hi!  I'm sure we'll go out afterwards to whatever the nearest functional bar is now... where's that, T'burg?

Quote from: Tom_HamillThat third Cornell goal was one of the most offensively perfect things I've ever seen a Cornell team do.  Absolute hockey gold.
But was Fiegl's bulldozing the Q player legal?
Well, a defensive player is allowed to "finish a check" as long as it is very soon after the offensive player gets rid of the puck.  That's pretty much what Fiegl did - pass, contact.  Bang, bang.  It cracked me up....but I'm not sure if it was legal.

Well, I look at it with a Cornell fan's eyes, but to me it looked like Fiegl wasn't interfering, more like Fiegl anticipated the chance of getting tangled up and took it; exchanging pawns to free the rook.

Agreed the Colgate '96 series was the biggest humiliation I've seen Cornell inflict upon an opponent.

Score updates would be most welcome; daughter is playing the flute, which believe it or not takes precedence over listening to the game.
