Hockey / Boston TV Viewing - Cornell @ RPI
February 09, 2011, 03:38:45 PM
If we can round up a large enough group in the Boston area, we might head to a bar to watch the Cornell @ RPI game this Saturday afternoon (Feb 12).  If you're interested, send me an email joshua.putterman@gmail.com.

I know I posted in the other thread, but since its buried in there...

Sports Depot said we could have the private room if we show up around 6ish (they don't reserve the private room during March Madness...)

Not sure I'll make it there, having some sports bar fatigue...if you have problems getting it set up, ask for Teddy, the manager.

Looks like the Cornell Club is directing people to Jillians in Albany to watch the basketball game before hockey:

Zap2It.com has the Cornell @ Colgate game listed as airing on SNY live and again the next day at 2pm.  SNY's site just lists "college hockey" so Zap2It is probably right.

Article in the WSJ this morning about the importance of the cornell-harvard game this saturday.  Nothing we didn't know, but nice to wake up to an article about cornell basketball...

The Cornell at Kansas basketball game will be televised as part of the ESPN Full Court package (available on DirecTV and most cable providers).  I think it will also be on ESPN360.com.

The Cornell Club of Boston will be meeting at Sports Depot in Allston.  We have a group of about 10-15 already and have reserved the private room there.

Tom and I are again trying to organize a TV viewing for Boston fans of Cornell basketball.  The game is Sunday at noon (we might try for the Monday game as well).  If anyone is interested, please email me (joshua.putterman@gmail.com) so we can tell the bar how many tables to reserve.  The original idea was to go to Sports Depot again, but depending on where everyone is coming from, we'll try to find a central location.

The Sunday game will be on MSG network, live, at Noon and is listed as high definition.

Josh

UPDATE: We will be at Jillian's near Fenway (which I'm told is owned by a Cornell alumnus)

Tomorrow night's basketball game against Seton Hall will be picked up by SNY.  Although it's short notice, Tom and I were trying to organize a viewing.  If you're interested in heading to Sport's Depot (Harvard St & Cambridge St in Allston), please email Tom Pasniewski at thp1@cornell.edu to RSVP.  Feel free to email questions to me at joshua.putterman@gmail.com.

After Moulson scored against the Bruins tonight, NESN did a 30 second thing on how Moulson and Bitz were roommates at Cornell and showed them on a split screen along with their college stats.  not sure if there will be a video online somewhere.

Hockey / Visiting Yale/Brown

Anyone have any recommendations for a bar to grab some food and drinks before the Yale and/or Brown games?  Went to the Union Station Brewery in Providence last year, but it was pretty quiet...is there a standard place most alumni go?

ECAC's website now has an updated TV schedule for this season...I think the only game missing from the list above is the Cornell at Princeton (Feb 6) game which will apparently air on Verizon's FiOS 1.
