Humans make the selections and choose seeds, but often the final few spots in a tournament will come down to statistical formulas like the Ratings Percentage Index.

Pretty disappointing.  I was hoping we'd face an inconsistent Big East team like Notre Dame or Louisville.  This is a tough, tough draw.

I'd be really surprised if we were as low as a 14.  I'm expecting a 13.

Hey guys,

I was spamming a live ESPN chat with college basketball analyst Dana O'Neil today, trying to sneak something funny into the chat.

ie: Big Read Bear (Ithaca, NY) : ROAR!!!!

In true ESPN fashion, they chose my most legit, yet least grammatically-correct remark to submit to the chat host.  But the good news is, Dana O'Neil thinks we could do some damage in the first round!  Or at least that we won't "get blown out."

Jackson (Ithaca, NY): Dana, throw me a bone here! Make the world the envy of your prognostications! Predict a Cornell upset in the First Round! WOOOOOOOOOOO!

SportsNation Dana O'Neil: (5:31 PM ET ) Jackson: Not sure I can step on that limb. But Cornell is legit. Ryan Wittman is a great big man and Louis Dale is talented too. Don't see them getting blown out.

Of course, my question should have read "make the world envious of your prognostications", but I'll swallow my pride and submit this to eLynah for the greater good.  :D

I'm pretty sure one of you fine folks tapped me on the head right after Greening's hat trick goal.  First in 102 games or so and my hat was the first on the ice.  Thanks for the heads up.  My friend always talked about how he wanted to be the first to get his hat on the ice; thanks to you I kept him from realizing his dream.  ;)

Luckily the cop in charge of hat affairs (this needs to be an official title) was a Sabres fan or I wouldn't have gotten that hat back.

I hope to God we see Joe Grossman during the playoff games.  That'd be spectacular.

For whoever was at the game last night: that was easily the most original, hilarious, impromptu song that I've ever heard, at either a professional or a semi-professional sporting event.

I am so, so proud of those two hecklers in Section A that came up with that.  Seriously, you guys need to come forward and accept your laudatory praise.  I will eagerly yet fruitlessly attempt to emulate your greatness at a future Big Red sporting event.
