The libraries at Cornell have some fantastic archives of media, race photos etc. that really should be further digitized.  For an away race at Dartmouth one year my mom asked for access and was able to copy a bunch of it for a slide show while hosting the team.  I'll have to ask if she still has any of it though that's 20+ years now.

Quote from: BearLoverit seems like most on here are way more okay with losing and other schools surpassing Cornell than I am.

Your constant negativity whether directly stated or implied is beyond tedious.  Others here choosing to reflect on the good rather than constantly harping on real or perceived problems does not mean that we are some how more ok with losing than you are. Get over yourself.  Your schtick incredibly stale, lacks nuance, and lacks any kind of emotional maturity.
Thank you my friend. I would say the exact same thing about your post and the 200 other posts that expressed the exact same thought within the past 24 hours.

I hope you find peace.

They will be competing in the US Olympic Trials.  I believe these events are being held in Sarasota, from April 4-7.

Streaming semi-finals and finals on some mix of Peacock and NBC.com

https://usrowing.org/sports/2024/1/25/2024-olympic-trials.aspx

The trials are free for spectators to attend. They will also be available to stream on Peacock, NBC.com and NBCSports.com on Saturday and Sunday. Heat sheets and results will be available on HereNow.com. For more information, visit USRowing.com or NathanBendersonPark.org.

Cornell lightweights posted a win at the Princeton Chase, beating crews that they lost to at the HOC.

"Our A boat brought home the WIN in the Lightweight 8+! With a time of 13:00.3, we finished 6 seconds in front of second place Princeton. This time would have also had us 3rd place in the Heavyweight category.  2018 was the last time we won the lightweight 8+ at the Chase. Coming off the 3rd place finish at the Charles, this crew was hungry to show what they were capable of.

Our B entry was 2nd compared to other B entries and finished 5th overall.   They finished .3 seconds behind Princeton's B boat, but they were able to beat Navy and Penn's A boats times.  They were also only 2 seconds off 3rd place Georgetown's A boat. Our C entry was 1st amongst C entries and finished 9th overall.  They finished in front of Navy and Georgetown's B boat.  Our D entry was 10th overall and edged out Penn's C entry by 2 seconds. They also beat Navy and Georgetown's B entries."

Unfortunately, it's use a VPN or forgo watching the game.  I pay for a subscription to ESPN+ so don't feel too horrible about accessing the platform from outside the US.

Excellent on ESPN+

Brought up VPN as they were asking for an international feed so was assuming they might be outside of the US.  ESPN+ is region locked (or maybe just blocked) at least for China so VPN is the only way to access even when paying for the service.

Listed as streaming on ESPNNews (not clear to me if this is cable ESPN or works under ESPN+).

If ESPN+ then solution would be ESPN+ subscription or Disney+ bundle that includes ESPN+ and Hulu and then using a VPN.

If ESPN then solution would be Hulu subscription adding 'Live TV' package to get ESPN unless you have ESPN via a cable provider in the US that allows you to log in and stream.  Will still need a VPN to show your IP address as in the US.

Being based in China I typically pay for and use a VPN called Astrill as it has the lowest latency/best server flexibility.  In other countries a lot of people use ExpressVPN.

I believe Todd sent out a very cursory note a month or so ago suggesting that Chris had moved on.  My assumption is also that he was let go but I have zero insight into what happened, though the silence suggests it probably wasn't something good.

As an expat living in China all the geolocation restrictions are depressing.  Sometimes you just want to pay money to watch hockey/lacrosse/wrestling and you still can't because the services either flag you as using a VPN (sites are blocked in China so require a VPN to access) or being out of region (even with a VPN set to my 'home' region it's becoming more common to be flagged).  Unfortunately, I and others like me are basically no % of their business.

Didn't see the 3V but 2V and 1V lights both make grand finals later this afternoon. Navy is fast, we'll see if Cornell has anything in reserve.  1V will have a bad lane for finals.

Columbia has some speed.  Will be interesting to see what happens at race with Yale who are currently ranked number 1.  Yale heavies have I think 4 current olympians in their 1V, not sure what the lwt team composition is like.
