Thanks for all your work, Age.

Now, if we can just get you back on that cowbell!
Maybe the metronome references can stop now that the cowbell has moved on...

Thanks to Age for providing a site that I check almost as compulsively as Facebook.
Only if the new player has rhythm.

I wish a certain wanna-be columnist could write as well as Avash.

That's insulting to forgotten cowbells everywhere.

Ari, why did you take me away before the end of the game tonight?  If you're gonna skip out of a game early, let it be for some rhythm lessons, which you badly need after that atrocious & terrible display of cowbell playing in John Harvard's before the game?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.  Hey Ari, the cowbell called, and it said: http://www.webmetronome.com/

PS: Did anyone else hear the cowbell Friday night in Hanover?  I didn't think so...

I suppose slight should be italicized in my original post. I realize there is a problem with people/distance/acoustics in a rink, but the cowbell beat is taken to the absurd, and it is not a problem of synchronization.  The beat from D and E accelerates until after the first cycle, when everyone stops from exhaustion.

The same thing happens during "Let's go Red" chants.

I realize that topics like this get beaten to death on the board, but do we have any workable ideas on educating the masses?
I suppose the Anaphoric Society could place metronomes on all the seats at the East end.
We could combine the problems to form a solution.  Apply subtle cowbell that most people can hear in B and A to keep a tempo for Lets Go Red!.  I think people would be inclined to follow a quiet beat of tap-tap-tap-pause-tap-tap-tap.  This might be a way to educate the masses about the idea of tempo.
Assuming the cowbell also doesn't speed up...
i think clapping in rhythm to the cowbell should be a strict requirement, or at least having the good sense to know that the cowbell is not a speed-up-as-you-go cheer a la "LGR" or "seiveseiveseiveseive" (which don't necessarily have to speed up either, they just always do)
It also helps when the person playing the cowbell doesn't speed up...
I'll be there and am responsible for bringing the game sweaters up this year.
Ari, please don't leave me behind.  If you go all the way up to Hamilton with just some sweaters and your sweat band, I'll be lonely in Ithaca. I still have terrible memories of the Estero games.  You were down in sunny Florida in your sandals and I had to stay behind in snowy Ithaca.  Please, never again:-/

QuoteNow wearing number two (he wore 27 his first two seasons)

McLeod actually wore 21 those 2 seasons. Knoepfli was 27.
No doubt about it but Cornell didn't play well and anywhere near the level they did a week ago.  There is no disputing that.  Doesn't and shouldn't matter what Sacred Heart did.
Not to complain, but Ari, you didn't play me well either, in either the 2nd or 3rd period.

Was it because you were out of practice from not having me last week in Estero?
