Hockey / Re: Not a goal?
November 27, 2011, 08:49:44 AM
I was sitting in section 203 which was in the corner by the net where the play occurred. We clearly heard the whistle well before the puck ended up in the net, but would also say that there was no way the puck hit the netting either. Sucks that it didn't count but all things considered we shouldn't be relying on a fluke (non)goal that took a one in a million deflection off the boards to end up in the net to win games.

Oh God.  That is a mission!  :-)

(Even though The Office sucks ass now.)

Can we just send the producers one?  Longshot, but it might work...
Do we know who the producers are to send them one?  As much as it's a long shot I would LOVE to see it happen.

well they could have Andy take Erin to Lynah on a date when he goes back to campus for some sort of reunion for his acapella group...

Quote from: cth95I still like the hockey bear.  It looks meaner and less Japanese cartoonish to me.

If we use a "C", I agree with flyers1037 that we should use a block "C".

definitely agree with all of this

hockey bear with "C"

thoughts?

What about something more along the lines of the bear leaning on the C logo (or some other location) rather than being inside the C? As is, I like it without the C but like the concept of having the C in there somewhere.

Are we allowed to use official Cornell logos on something that's not licensed?  That's why we've been using alternatives to the Bear in the C or the bear leaning on the C

I meant reposition the hockey bear in the previous examples. I have no idea about using official things but I'm gonna guess no.

I also definitely think a block letter C looks the best but it just doesn't seem to be working with that hockey bear in the middle of it

agreed on the hockey bear

Quote from: hockeychick470another design Munchkin and I have worked toward with a few suggestions...

the bear in this design is pretty sweet. what about just ditching the squiggly C and the Cornell Hockey and just blowing that bear up a little bigger

Quote from: jaybertpep band will make it to jacksonville though? (sorry if it was posted elsewhere!)

band will be in jacksonville. NC$$ pays for the basketball tournament travel, but the band would have to pay its own way to minnesota for the womens frozen four.

Quote from: phillysportsfanThats great to get the band to go to the away basketball games. Do you guys usually go to the away basketball games or?

Band went to the Penn game last year . Just the way the scheduling worked out this year, that instead of sending one large band to the hockey game like we normally would, a slightly smaller band will be at both hockey and basketball at both Harvard and Dartmouth. I'm interested to see how the Harvard and Dartmouth bands react to that. The other Ivy bands tend to be against splitting between multiple events and in my experience Harvard was one of the most outspoken bands against doing that. Hopefully enough fans can get to the games so we can take over both the hockey rink and the basketball arena

How about the lax quarterfinal in 2007 against Albany? I won't ever forget Seibald charging down the field with the tomahawk check to jar the ball loose and then have it go back the otherway for the game winner in overtime.

Actually last year, the ECAC tournament and the NCAA basketball torunament were the same weekend. And on top of that there was also the women's basketball tournament that weekend. I know that much from making it to all 3 events. That was one hell of a spring break. A quick look at the athletics website shows wrestling also having been that weekend.
