Hockey / Re: Perfection Returns to Lynah

Seeing the 1970 team was great, however I feel the need to vent my frustration here before sending Andy Noel a letter. As a fan of over 40 years I have seen a few special events held at Lynah. Honoring our Championship teams, retired numbers etc.... It blows my mind that no one has the thought process to get a couple of carpets to roll out to center ice and have the distinguished  guests be at center ice where they belong. I've personally seen the ROTC members fall to the ice more than once. In the last few years they have started wearing strap on ice cleats. Just my 2 cents.

What was the complaint about the knee penalty call?  not that it was wrong or that they reviewed it?

Union got away with a ton.. even when the game was almost over, I forget who they tripped at center ice, but then when that player was trying to get over the wall on a line change they went over and tried to check him from behind over the boards too..
It was Early Stage Gaudet.   The theory is you knock the shit outta the better team to get them off their game and into Hulk Mode.  You bring them down to your level.  We did the same thing in 1987.  It's the last refuge of the desperate.

I do not like Bennett -- he seems like a punk.  But he did win it all, playing a really interesting style with a team that wasn't overwhelming with its talent, so he has cred.  He may also just happen to be an asshole.

Trotsky, I agree with you as far as disliking Bennett. We must also remember Nate Leahman built that team and Bennett was lucky enough to get the rewards. And Leahman followed it up later on at Providence. I find his teams to be a bunch of thugs similar to the Clarkson teams of George Rolls.

As I sit next to our penalty box I guess I had one of the best vantage points. He did go up the tunnel and after all the discussion about the penalty Schafer basically asked him if he could serve the penalty. He seemed to be in a lot of pain during his time in the box. I never saw him return to the ice. He spent the last few minutes at the end of the bench behind the goalies. Hopefully just a stinger and he will be back for the playoffs or better yet this coming weekend. I for one was very surprised to see him in the lineup this past weekend.

Actually Spectrum did away with the channels that carried those events. So now we get no local sports programming at all. And now they are in a contract pissing contest with Fox, so no Fox either.

If 14-6-2 isn't a good season to you you are clueless...as well as tiresome, boring, and annoying.  Change your handle to Whining.

I think "See ya..." would be more appropriate.  Nothing worse than a whiner.

Yeah Al that would have worked also. Just tired of all the negativity. Most of us come here to talk about our beloved Big Red win or lose. As I get older,  the young men are young enough to be my own kids. This make one realize it's just a game and they are just kids giving their all on Friday and Saturday nights. LET"S GO RED!!!

Just the fact that you are BORING!!! If you don't like the product on the ice go down the hall and watch basketball. Your pointless drivel is redundant. We get it, you don't like Schafer or his style of hockey. Move on!!! Sorry to everyone else for feeding the trolls!!!::smashfreak::

Programs were definitely sold in the same places they have been for years. As for the 50/50 I was also told it had to do with some paperwork being filed with ith IRS.

This will be a fun event for a great local organization.
