I just got an email from the Dartmouth webcast people also. the game will be webcasted for free on Saturday.
It will be on wdcr:-D
I have the link to the Dartmouth webcast on the audio links page, but I have not been able to successfully connect to it (hence my notation "broken link?"). It very well may be that I don't have the proper software versions. I just wanted to give people some warning that they may experience difficulty with it.
http://www.dartmouth.edu/~brdcast/sports/
not sure if that is the same link that is on the site.
:-D
I just tuned in successfully. Odd to hear Creed on an AM station, but that's their business. :-)
A) The comments made by Dartmouth's radio announcers do not represent the opinion of the rest of the student body. I say this because as a Dartmouth student, I often tuned in to the other team's radio broadcast for Dartmouth road games. Our student announcers suck. Why we use a professional for football and student's for hockey, I don't know. You have been warned, so I don't want anyone coming back on here Saturday night acting shocked at how bad our radio announcers are.
B) On Creed being on AM - The FM station is commercially-driven though student run - it has a set format and play-list as well as commercials. The AM station is your typical student free-form radio where random students can sign up to be talk show host / dj / whatever.
C) To whoever offered me the ride from New Haven, thanks, but I'll have to pass this time around. I appreciate the offer though.
thanks for the warning, ben
But hey, terrible is better than none at all! (or pay for all) ::nut::
anthems playing
LGR!:-D
So there's a French guy on WHCU right now.
Is this same guy coming through the pay per view netcast? If so, so much for improved listening experiences. . . ::laugh::
Edit - weird. Must be atmospheric conditions. The game's on.
Ther's a Quebec station with the same or right next to the frequency of WHCU. It happens to me in Syr. all the time.
Has anyone been able to get the webcast in the past say few minutes? I click on the link but I can't get connected.
::help::
PP goal! 1-0 Red
erin I am listening to the wfrd webcast right now
cook from moulson and knoephli
1-1
Who's in net for the Green? Boucher or Gastrock? (Or Yacey even?)
never mind, Boucher's in net.
Dartmouth up 3-1! :-P
I just got back to my computer - how is it 3-1 now?? what happened???
No clue, but if you find out, let me know.
according to the YAHOO scoreboard it was 1-1 19:55 in the second
I think someone is just messing with us - the person posted as "Go Green" and added a ::nut:: for good measure.
unless its the same joker on USCHO.com -
"DC 3 - CU 1; 10:00 in 2nd period, CU going on PP"
i don't think anyone's joking
Grrrrrr. If it isn't a joke . . . LET'S GO RED!!!
Kepler confirms it on USCHO.com
"Dartmouth still up on Cornell 3-1 with 5 to go in the 2nd."
Isn't there an audio broadcast that some people might be listening to? I'm having firewall problems (I think) and can't get the audio.
I was getting -408 time out errors.....now reading more posts, it seems like the Darthmouth server can't handle it.
It's (3-1 deficit) no joke. I've been trying to listen to DC's webcast. I'm only getting about 30%. And, considering that, only half of what those guys have to say is worth listening to, I finally had to mute it to cut the frustration level here. I did get it that DC is up 3-1 in the second period. Anyone else having problems with the webcast cutting out....a lot?
some people are probably listening to Dartmouth's broadcast, crappy though it is with student broadcasters. I would be but the cybercafe I'm at sucks and quicktime doesn't work.
otherwise I'm depending on people on here and uscho to fill me in, since sports.yahoo.com doesn't provide up-to-the-minute scores.
I'm getting AM 880 out of Ithaca well...
Dartmouth leads CU 3-1 going in the 2nd Intermission. Some period by the Green. We're gonna need a good effort in the 3rd, but we're definately capable of it.
LGR!
Greg says Cornell has 10 shots total late in the second period. Looks like we didn't come to play...at least not yet.
Harvard scores with :12 to go in the second to go up 2-1.
Other ECAC scores
4-1 Yale - in the 2nd?
2-0 Princeton - in the 2nd?
3-1 Dartmouth - 2nd intermission
4-0 Brown - 2nd intermission
2-1 Harvard - 2nd intermission
2-0 Vermont - in the 2nd?
Who is the color guy on WHCU with Adam??? I've never heard him before. . .not his biggest fan ::yark::
Adam is better by himself.
I forget what his name was, but he does the Merrimack games (don't remember if it was play-by-play or color). He has the night off and lives an hour from Hanover apparantly, so is alongside Adam tonight.
Yeah, it's true: 3-1 at the second break. Dartmouth owned the second period, put a big forecheck on Cornell, and so far we've let em have their way. I'm sure Coach is having *his* way with the players right now, since Adam and special guess Mike Machnik have noted that the Red look sluggish and their heads aren't in the game -- an example, Lenny had his stick swept away on a Dartmouth pp and no Cornell player thought to hand him his stick; the Green missed on an open net and we escaped but...
2 goals in not impossible by any means, especially since we sound pretty... rested... after the first two periods. Boucher hasn't been tested, so it's hard to tell whether he's having a good night. Trevor Byrne had a great second period; he lives for playing us.
. . .that's too bad for us.::rolleyes::
3rd period underway
16:11 left in the 3rd (still 3-1)
Cornell goes on the PP with 15 to go.

[Q]I'm getting AM 880 out of Ithaca well...[/Q]
Unfortunately it's 870
Cornell takes their TO with :45 to go in the PP
cornell take it's time out. still 3-1. we're getting a lot of chances, but not converting
time out cornell
3-1 DC
CU on the pp with 15 left
What's the trick with the Internet Audio Link - I can't get Dartmouth's to work on my PC (old Quicktime?)
Chris
Big Red on PP - coach took a time out to rest 1st PP unit - Boucher stops it and it's frozen under him - shots so far in 3rd 10-0 for us --- PP is over still 3-1
Another CU Power Play upcoming
8:05 - Big Red on PP again - Hynes pulled down - Byrnes in box
Moulson SCORES!
Moulson on the PP from Knoepfli and Cook.
About ten to go.
GOAL - Moulson
thank god - let's keep it up....
not sure.
I have the newest QT on winxp. Do you get any errors?
trust me, with these announcers it is better that you do not listen ::nut::
Shoot me an IM/email b/c I am done doing work tonight and can try to help you get it to work :-)
IM is yowjowypis btw
3-2 still about 8 to go shots 14-0 big red
what's with the screen name???
5:53 left. Still 3-2. It's all Red in the third. Outshooting DC about 12-0.
Moulson stuffs it in on a wrap around and Dell calls no gaol as net off moorings - very border line call - 4 mins to go
tieing goal waved off because net off the pegs right before the puck went over. still 3-2 DC
4-2 DC ENG
EN goal.dartmouth is gonna win. 4-2 right now.
Dartmouth 4-2 ENG
Alex Dell better not be coming to Lynah for the rest of the year!!!
5-2 another ENG...
5-2 final after another ENG
That's it. The monkey is still firmly on the back. Cornell still can't beat Dartmouth or win when they give up four goals.
Only shots in the third for DC are the ENGs.
Seniors get one more shot at DC.
No call for whining. Hard to beat a good team when you play only one period. Good lesson for next weekend.
good game all, sounds like Dartmouth got a lucky call to help them hang on, and each team dominated a period - Dartmouth the 2nd, Cornell the 3rd...
Hopefully I'll see you at Lynah in Feb. - right now I'm tentatively planning on coming pending getting tickets through Dartmouth and any exams/ papers I may have due that would prevent me from going.

Not necessarily. There's always the postseason. Oh, geez, I hope we don't meet Dartmouth in the postseason. ::worry:: ::worry:: ::worry::
