I figured I would start this already because I emailed the vermont webcast people and got good news. The game will be webcasted for free here:

No hockey smiles down here; the damn Hornets kicked the Brass out of the NO arena, and now the nearest hockey is in Baton Rouge. :-(
Today's Sun weekend preview addresses both the injury situation and Schafer's thoughts on goalie.

Whoa. Moulson's back (along with everyone else). That's great.
Random observation: How come the Sun is so quick to quote someone as saying "gotta"? Sure, people run "got to" together an awful lot, but it seems odd that you would quote someone in such fashion (they even did it with Coach). Ok, I'm done wasting everbody's time. :-P
Because the Sun tells it like it IS. :-)
Off-topic, I know, but I didn't feel like creating a new topic just for a quick question...
Anyone know what the TV schedule is for CU games this season? I took a look on the ECAC site and didn't see anything. Thanks!
IIRC, Roger Clemens once complained that the Boston media always misquoted him. So they ran the next post-game interview completely unedited - each "um" "er" and "you know" was included in the transcript. From what I recall, this didn't make the Rocket any happier.
I know the Union @ Cornell game on 2/22 will be televised on NESN....
The one game on the schedule is vs Union in March. A pretty exhaustive TV schedule is at
http://pubpages.unh.edu/~jdgibney/hockey/chtv.html
There's also one at
http://www.insidecollegehockey.com/sectionsINCH/1Schedules/schedules2002_2003/schedules_tv.htm
but it only goes to the end of the season and I'm not sure how often it's updated.
So I am listening to the pregame. The webcast works :-):-D
puck is about to drop
LETS GO RED!B-]
downs
1-0 CU
Goal
Downs from Moulson on a delayed penalty ~ 3:00 in - 1-0 Cornell
Another one! Hornby - make it 2-nil!!
oh crap! nice!
hornby
2-0
13:37 first period
cornell kills a tripping penalty
2-0 CU
score! 3-0
Knoepfli deflects a Mark McRae shot at 8:02. Cornell 3, Vermont 0
knoepfli (sp?) on a tip from mark mcrae:-D
3-0
they credit the goal to mcrae
Baby scores. 4-0
baby on the PP for CU 4-0
Daniel Pegoraro got his first NCAA goal for the fifth Big Red goal.
Vermont needs some of that white out to erase the memories of tonight's game.
Next period, Coach should get some other goalie some playing time
LeNeveu still in. Matt McRae from Hynes & Paolini - 6-0.
From what I can tell, Cornell's lines tonight are:
Matt Moulson-Ryan Vesce-Stephen Baby
Sam Paolini-Matt McRae-Shane Hynes
Shane Palahicky-Daniel Pegoraro-Mike Knoepfli
Cam Abbott-Paul Varteressian-Greg Hornby
The defense pairings are:
Jeremy Downs-Doug Murray
Ben Wallace-Mark McRae
Travis Bell-Charlie Cook
7-0!!
this sounds like a ridiculous game!
shots 30-9 in favor of cornell ::nut::
Did they really just spend 2 minutes of the intermission report talking about deer hunting? THAT'S the sign of a blowout game...
Hey, I like deer hunting.
Ooooh, wow. Just what we need to get going tonight... a power play!
and I like your mom :-P
Deer hunting is a good metaphor for this game. ::nut::
that would imply a moving target...this is more just shooting at the big side of a large red building.
although a long PP for the catamounts right now
2minutes into the 3rd, about to have a 5v3 PP for vermont
what's the score of the Brown/Clarkson game??
last i heard, clarkson 3, brown 1
Final ECAC scores from Friday (home teams underlined):
Harvard 6, SLU 1
Clarkson 5, Brown 1
Dartmouth 6, Colgate 2
Union 4, Princeton 1
Yale 5, Rensselaer 2
If Lenny had given up a goal, yes, but a coach isn't likely to pull a goalie when he's trying for a, uh, um, you know.
Is there a chat going on somewhere? irc.warped.net isn't giving me a chat room.
According to Wodon, Vermont's "White Out" was mostly a bust. Some of the students did it but mostly the Vermont fans "didn't get the memo."
And it is now 8-0 on a sharp angle shot. Cam Abbott gets the credit.
8-0 CU
8-0. Abbott with the goal. I don't know which one.
Cam got the 8th goal. Chris is scratched.
Abbott from Hornby and Varterressian
Thanks. I started listening in the middle of the 3d.
8-0 on a bad angle shot.
lenny shuts the door to keep it 8-0 ::nut::
Paul Varteressian's two assists tonight were his first points of the season. Daniel Pegoraro's goal and assist and Matt Moulson's assist were the first points of their respective college careers.
game over
sweet!:-D
Shutout. 8-0 Red. Back to back blankings by Lenny.
I learned one thing listening to the Vermont feed...
"if you keep putting the puck on the net, good things'll happen to you."
Sounds like Lenny's toughest save may have come with 12 seconds to go; Leneveu got his left toe on a tricky shot to preserve the tie.
[Q] Leneveu got his left toe on a tricky shot to preserve the tie.[/Q]
Which game was that? ::nut::
Typo's aside... Lenny now has the best GAA in the nation, with Danis giving up 5 (assuming he played) and Maine's Howard giving up 2 (ditto).
Also, Cornell is now officially the last undefeated, untied team in the nation with Brown loosing tonight - though BC remains undefeated (but tied), with the win over BU tonight .
d'oh! ::twitch::
"tie" should have been "shut out", but you probably pieced that together on your own.
for whatever reason i take more stock in save pct than GAA...it seems GAA is more influenced by the defense, i.e. the defense could lapse and let a guy score an easy goal, but the save pct really tells you whether the guy can stop anything that comes at him; i guess it esp makes sense if lenny is only facing 13-15 shots the whole game, as i think he did the past 2 games.
