This is going to throw a wrench into Penn's US News ranking if they are pressured to follow.

NPR also had a feature about this on today's (9/12/06) Morning Edition. The story also talked about "Enrollment managers"; mathematicians, accountants etc. that are hired by the university to determine the minimum amount of financial aid they need to offer a student yet still get them to enroll in the school.

i'll be surprised if cornell follows suit in eliminating early admissions. the graphics inside this nytimes article is pretty telling:
