Title: A look into the future?
Post by: Cop at Lynah on August 28, 2006, 10:19:23 PM
This was taken from the write up of Nanimo's first exhibition game.

The second period featured the games first fight with rookie left wing Joe Devin taking exception to Chris
Demoe slashing the back of his legs at the face off circle.  Devin wasted no time in decisioning Demoe to
the ice.

This is probably old and stale stuff, but I hadn't been back to campus in years. When I came back for reunion, I saw this stuck on all the cop cars:

Cup O Lice.  On every car.  That's so beautiful, it brought a tear to my eye.  I guess if you don't have Pubic Safety, you may well wind up with a cup o' lice.

Wow.  It has been awhile since you were there.  They made that change some time while I was a student in the early 90's,  I think before the 92-93 school year.  The idea was partly to sound more official and therefore gain more respect if I remember correctly.

Think about it if you went to Princeton.  Pup o' lice.

Not that it matters, but it's nice to get a whiff of hockey...Nanaimo won the game 6-2 & JD picked up an assist on the first goal. The league's website originally posted a boxscore that had Clippers' goalie Cheverie having scored 5 goals and having assisted on the sixth. It's good to have a preseason.

In defense of a totally OT and pointless post, I think the change was actually in the mid 90's.  And I sure don't remember seeing that particular run-in of letters flaunted so flagrantly, especially considering 'web surfing' back in that day was more like poking around in the dark.

I think you're forgetting the "p" there...
