Title: Romano in the news
Post by: interesting on August 07, 2006, 05:42:43 PM
The NHL has a feature story about two of the NJ Devils draft picks, one being incoming freshman Tony Romano. There's a couple of qoutes from Cornell coach "Peter" Schafer.

Enjoy.

Cornell only scored 99 goals in 35 games last season. I know Romano's stats are inflated because of the weak league he played in, but if he can give us a fraction of the offense he produced last year, it would seem like he can make a major impact as a freshman. Is anyone else going to step up to fill Moulson's shoes?

It seems like many of the freshman coming in are offensively minded, which as you pointed out, we certainly can use.
Of the upperclassmen, I think McCutcheon is going to be an impact player, even moreso than last year. I could also see Barlow doing some damage.
